We had the good fortune of connecting with Brad Leavitt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brad, what do you attribute your success to?
We live by the motto “we are saving marriages one house at a time”. One of the biggest challenges in construction is delivering on expectations to our clients. We have spent countless hours to train our team in communication, scheduling, site cleanliness and efficiency. Company culture is so important and our customers see and feel it. They sense the positivity in our construction firm which is unique to the industry. Building a dream home can be a very stressful experience for our clients. With effective communication, hitting our deadlines, and showing we care by keeping their project clean, we strive to save those marriages one house at a time.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are an award winning Commercial and Residential General Contractor located in Scottsdale, AZ. I feel that we are a young and vibrant firm that has brought innovation into the industry to break down the old construction stereotypes. We see the value in good design and architecture . Our firm has also expanded into energy efficient homes. We were fortunate to be selected by Professional Builder to build the 2021 home of the year. This will be a “net-zero” home located in North Scottsdale. Net-zero homes only use as much energy as they produce throughout the year. Through advanced building science methods, we are continuing to push the limit with construction products and innovation. As a young company, it has always been a challenge to make a name for ourself to compete with some of the larger and more established firms in town. Our marketing strategies have given us a personality and platform to broadcast our unique methods, efficiency and communication efforts. This has allowed us to create a great market for our staff. I want the world to know that we are here for the long term. We want to build a better home. We want to cultivate a lifestyle where customers return and hire our firm for years to come. Our story at a Finer Touch Construction is that we are always a touch above the competition.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If they had time for a week long trip, we would definitely take them to Sedona and the White Mountains. AZ has some beautiful landscape and terrain. Of course we would have to take a visit to Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West. A morning hike up Camelback Mountain would be a must or even a boat day at Saguaro Lake. If they were an avid sports fan, I would also love to take them golfing at some of the signature courses in town.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
One of my greatest mentors is Dave Clark. Dave saw something in me at a time in my life I needed him most. I was dealing with some personal challenges, further complicated during the financial recession of 2011. Dave gave me an opportunity to start my business and set the path for me to succeed. He has always been a phone call away when I have questions, concerns or need business advice. He is a true entrepreneur that has always invested in others. Everyone needs a Dave Clark in their life, especially when navigating the ups and downs as a business owner.
