We had the good fortune of connecting with Priscilla Mora and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Priscilla, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born and raised in Arizona. My upbringing was founded on striving for ambition, inclusivity, and empathy. I think anyone with immigrant parents or with an immigrant background can relate to ambition being embedded into our brains since we were young kids. Now that I am getting older, I am creating a new definition of the word ambitious. It’s that it isn’t always the values of life but instead the values YOU put into life. I understand that this way of thinking is a luxury in itself & I have my parents to thank for that, for working as hard as they do to give me the freedom of thinking beyond survival. I haven’t necessarily changed their teachings, but I have added that self-love and self-care are just as important as hard work. I have created Cara Bella Esthetics to emphasize that self-love and self-care are for anyone and everyone. It is a place where it doesn’t matter where you come from, who you love, or who you identify as; everyone is just as deserving to be cared for. You don’t have to go on this journey alone; let Cara Bella be your guide to the skincare universe.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Choosing my ideal school became accessible to me when I found Penrose Academy. I thought I knew what was in store for me, but to my surprise, it was something much greater than that; it was a fresh new take on the beauty industry. When I left Penrose, I was eager to contribute my part to the industry, and it didn’t matter how big or small, I was ready to embark on this journey. Unfortunately, I was met with difficult situations that made me feel misrepresented, which led to a career ultimatum. Was it to stay where I was and be unhappy or take matters into my own hands and build a reputation representing what I believe. As scary as that was, here I am, creating a safe corner for anyone and everyone to experience my view on skincare.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If you find yourself in sunny Arizona and you are anything like me, fueling yourself on caffeine is a must! Lucky for you, my newest hobby has been trying new local coffee shops with my sister Arelly. You’ll love the smoothest Latte at Cartel Coffee Shop, the yummiest shortbread cookies at Dark Hall Coffee & the creamiest Dirty Chai from Coffee Brewed Differently.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have my family to thank for the endless support.
