We had the good fortune of connecting with Randall Pulfer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Randall, how does your business help the community?
Here at Chipp Golf Company, we design premium-quality golf gloves with some of the most unique designs you’ve ever seen as a way of spicing up the boring industry that is golf apparel. We believe that every business should have a philanthropic mission and ours is to spread awareness and raise funds in order to cultivate the growth of the game of golf in surrounding communities. For every glove sold, we donate a portion of the proceeds to a charitable cause that the customer gets to select through our innovative packaging design. It is our way of giving the customer the control in picking a cause they they believe in.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I went to school for engineering and manufacturing and have always wanted to take my love of sports and turn it into my daily life. My dad ran his own business until he passed away when I was 12 years old, and seeing the happiness and freedom it brought him has always given me the desire to create something myself. So I took my love for the game of golf and decided to create Chipp, a golf apparel brand currently focused on giving new life the the ordinary golf glove. Nothing is easy about starting or running a business, but the one lesson I have learned so far is that the worst thing you can do is not try. Once you accept that you’ll make mistakes and learn from them, the rest is easy. Too many people have ideas and never take action on them.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, considering we are a golf brand we would obviously go golfing. My favorite course to play is Quintero Golf Club. We would also hike Camelback mountain and definitely enjoy the restaurants and nightlife in downtown Scottsdale. If we are lucky enough to be in the area during spring, we would definitely catch a spring training game of my personal favorite team the Texas Rangers.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mom. She has continually taught me that there is no substitute for hard work and that your life is what you make it. If you have a dream or a passion, pursue it relentlessly until it becomes a reality. My mom is one of the hardest working people I have ever met and without her constant motivation and support I could not do what I am doing today.
