We had the good fortune of connecting with Ravi Shah and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ravi, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
The only certain thing about your life is its uncertainty. There are times when your goals seem far away, failures come in your way, and nothing seems to be on your side. Success is never a smooth road.
That’s where you need to take a pause, believe in yourself again, and keep going.
Sharing a glimpse of my journey,
starting my own business was not just my mere goal, but a dream since I got mature enough to understand things. But the circumstances were never in my favour since I was very young. After completing my graduation with personal struggles, and doing a part time job, I was set to kickstart my own IT Services business. And I did so. However, it crashed and failed, so did my hopes for a while.
But, as they say, inspiration comes from within. No matter what people said to me and judged my decision to go ahead, I was determined to never give up on my dream.
But how did I keep my journey going? Changing the course for a while. I accumulated some savings, did jobs, took freelancing projects, and everything else I could do. If I never gave up on my ultimate goal of having my own firm, I even didn’t go rigid with the short term plan at the same time
It’s important to understand that nothing is more important than your life in the end. And your life never works on extreme ends. Hence, you need to change your way according to the situation, but your goals need to be firm enough. That’s an in between, that’s the balance you would want to chase your dream in any circumstances.
I have seen people failing and losing their faith in themselves. But that’s where we need to take a different stand. Failure is not the end of your goal. Failure simply means the end of one way and the beginning of the other door. There always is another room, another door for you to explore. The only mantra is, never be too rigid with your path that you end up sacrificing your goals and dreams.
And never be too loose to lose your goals.
As I just stated, life works with a balance. And never giving upon your goals is one such thing that needs balance from you.
Don’t lose yourself, don’t lose your faith in you. There will always be a better version of you waiting ahead.
