We had the good fortune of connecting with Renata Henderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Renata, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
My end goal is to become the best version of myself! I want to use my passion as a hairstylist to walk into my purpose of serving, inspiring, and empowering others . Being a hairstylist I have connected with so many amazing people over the years. Through these interactions, I recognized that my gifts and talents could be used in other ways other than just hairstyling. One of things I want to do is mentor and teach women as it relates to the beauty industry. I am actually in the process of making a transition into setting the foundation for this goal. I am creating online content for current and future hairstylists who are interested in establishing themselves as business owners. They will have access to training content as well as a mentorship program. I also want to be more of a service to women through ministry. I definitely would love to motivate women to tap into their confidence by helping them develop their inner beauty. I have worked in an industry where its primary focus is outer beauty. I just want to make more of a statement that inner beauty will always shine brighter than outer beauty. I am excited to see where God leads me!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a licensed hair stylist who has been in the industry for over 15 years. I offer a full range of services and have made it a priority to have a diverse clientele. I have the expertise and skills to work with all hair types and ethnicities. I love haircuts, coloring, and bridal; but my main service and passion has been hair extensions. I have years of training and education on many different hair extension techniques/methods; I believe this has helped to set me apart from others. As a stylist, I make sure I always provide my clients with the best hair extensiion technique/method that fits best for their hair type and lifestyle. I love creating beauty from the outside in no matter the woman. I believe hair is an extension of your beauty, your crown and glory. And I believe every woman deserves to shine, feel, and look her best! My passion for hairstyling has been with me since I was a young girl. What I initially saw as a hobby eventually grew into a career. My biggest challenge has been my transition from a hairstylist to an entreprenuer. Working for myself has definitely had its ups and downs; but the rewards have been far greater. I am proud of myself for taking that leap of faith and stepping out into the unkown.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Due to Covid-19, I know my choices are limited. I currently reside in the Old Town Scottsdale area and know there are many nice spots to visit. I personally love Olive & Ivy Restaurant and The Scott Resort and Spa Canal Club.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This one is actually a very hard one for me. There would be so many that I would be afraid I would miss one. So ultimately, I would like to acknowledge God for his continued grace in my life. I am thankful that he has allowed people to come into my life to help pour into me spiritually, emotionally, and professionally. I am also thankful for the people who served in my life as a lesson or a season. They were the greatest force that pushed me to where I am now. My clients, friends, and family are amazing and I am blessed to have them.
