We had the good fortune of connecting with Roberto Murphy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Roberto, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think risk taking is essential in any life/career. It gets you out of your comfort zone, it makes you grow and evolve. The learning experience becomes too slow if you aren’t taking risks. Risks demand; action, focus and determination and they become necessary exercises to achieve your goals.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? I got to where I am today through; dedication, time, money but most importantly through passion. I think that people can truly see passion and people like it, they like to connect to it. I cannot say it has been an easy ride, it has been a learning experience every step of the way. Some lessons have been more painful and consequential than others but in the end I think passion is the key element that will always set you apart. People see and feel passion and there are people out there willing to give your passion a chance.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am an outdoors guy so I would definitely take them: Hiking in South Mountain, Camelback and Piestewa peak. Mountain biking to the Mc Dowell mountain. Hangout for a sunset at Tempe Town Lake park or on the top of A mountain. To the MIM (Musical Instrument Museum) We would definitely try to find some chill live music, maybe downtown Phx. A night out camping in the Desert and stargazing
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This shoutout goes to all friends and family for they have helped mold my dreams and they continue to teach me that they are possible… that they are within reach.
