We had the good fortune of connecting with Romen Buffalo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Romen, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?

The reason why I started taking guitar lessons was to learn music theory and how to write songs.. I like the discovery process, looking for the right chords, searching for the melody and writing lyrics. Best part of being a singer/songwriter is the feeling you get when you finish writing a new song, also the scariest moment when you send the song to your bandmates and hope they like the song.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

Romen Buffalo & The Loyal Order hails from the Sonoran Desert (Phoenix, AZ). The pack consists of “Romen Buffalo” on guitar and vocals, “Paddy Bison” picking’ on banjo, “Scotty Steer” jamming on dobro, “Marconias the Bull” on mandolin and “Shane Beef Master” keeping the bottom end on upright bass. Collectively they are five bovines that enjoy playing stringed instruments and combining our talents to collaborate on roots-based music. Some may think it odd to see musically inclined Buffalos in the southwest desert but to the people (aka “The Herd”) who have experienced a show they tend to believe. Our music is a mix of bluegrass, folk, and Americana, The Herd call it “Brewgrass” and our concerts are called “Bovine Sighting’s.” We have a new singles planned for early 2021 and EP should be available by early summer.
