We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan Bazen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ryan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Ive always. thought about starting my own business. When I moved to Phoenix, I started working for a high end trim company here and had to purchase all of my own tools. I just thought if Im spending my money on the tools then I might as well work for myself. In 2019, I took the plunge and went out on my own.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I make custom built-in entertainment centers, office desks, and cabinets for the greater Phoenix area. I’m most proud of taking the leap and starting to work for myself. I started my own business because the company I was working for said I had to provide all of my own tools, so I figured if I have to buy all my own tools I might as well work for myself. I have learned that is ok to say no to some projects. I have learned that just being nice and responsive can get you the job.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my friend to Camelback mountain for an early morning hike and then brunch at the Henry. The second day we would pick a random shooting area and spend the day sending rounds down range. Then it would be time to relax at home.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
