We had the good fortune of connecting with Saba & Shokouh Shojai and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Saba & Shokouh, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
We’ve had to make many difficult decisions since we’ve become entrepreneurs but the most difficult of them all has been the decision to believe in ourselves wholeheartedly. When we decided to take a leap of faith, quit our corporate jobs, and jump into the world of entrepreneurship, we knew that we couldn’t be successful unless we decided to believe in ourselves no matter what. We knew that we had to make the decision to believe in our ability to be successful before we were ever going to be successful and stick with that belief for the rest of our life. That is not an easy decision to make. It is so easy to allow your fears and doubts to take over, especially when things get tough. It’s easy to look at the competition and doubt yourself. It’s easy to allow other people’s judgments of you to make you feel like you’re not good enough. It’s easy to allow your ego to convince you to just give up. The most difficult decision of them all is to push past the fears, and believe in yourself so much that you don’t give yourself another option but to succeed.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

We didn’t get to where we are today easily. We were born in Iran after the Iranian revolution of 1979. Our parents were political activists fighting for freedom and justice. In the early 80s, the new government ordered the arrest of all political opposition. Our father, alongside other family members, was arrested as political prisoners fighting for the very freedoms that we get to enjoy here in the US. After five years in captivity, on a very sad and tragic day, twelve of our family members were executed in the prisons of Iran. Overtaken by this tragic loss and hoping for a better future, we left our country, friends, and family to start a new life abroad. We didn’t have much as new immigrants and lived in a 500 sqft apartment with little money in our pockets and a heart full of hopes and dreams.
Over the years, we saw our parents start businesses and build our lives back up from zero. They were entrepreneurs and business owners themselves but we were taught that going to college and working a corporate job was the only secure way to success. Although we are very grateful for the education we received and the experiences we gained along the way, this path wasn’t fulfilling for either of us. We knew that our purpose was to create a much bigger impact on humanity.
The idea of building a business seemed challenging and scary at first. Neither one of us had any knowledge of the retail or e-commerce industry and no education in sales, marketing, website design, PR, or social media. That was probably one of the biggest challenges for us. Without the knowledge, we had to learn and teach ourselves every possible aspect of running a business. This can become very overwhelming and daunting for new business owners. Ultimately, we managed to overcome our challenges because we believed in ourselves and our dreams wholeheartedly. We also had a vision and a mission that was so much bigger than our personal needs and that kept us going. When faced with challenging decisions we knew that our work served a bigger mission. Giving up was not an option. We knew that every problem had a solution and was simply a learning opportunity for us.
If there is one thing we want people to take away from our brand it’s the idea that nothing in life is impossible. We are never stuck. Life is ever-changing and we have the power to create anything we desire without limitation. No matter what your current circumstances are, you always have a choice to create something different. If you can think it, you can manifest it. That’s where our tagline “Think It, Wear It, Manifest It” came from.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We love this question. As immigrants, Arizona has been our home away from home for the past 14 years. It is where we both got married and started families. Currently we live in the city of Scottsdale. Saba is a certified sound healing practitioner and she facilitates a sound healing session at Civana Wellness Resort & Spa every Wednesday evening. So I would say any trip should start at Civana where you can stay to relax, rejuvenate, and appreciate the beauty of the desert.
In the mornings, I would take advantage of the many hiking trails close to the resort. After hiking, head south to Scottsdale Quarter for lunch at True Food Kitchen and shopping at Urbana Home Goods Store, where you can find everlur bracelets for sale.
Another favorite locally owned spot in Scottsdale is Abundant Space Healing and Meditation Center, where you can take advantage of workshops and shop for crystals and vintage goodies.
When in the area we love to eat at Thai Coconut Restaurant or Persian Room for a taste of traditional Persian cuisine.
Head over to Imagine 3D Mini Golf for some fun entertainment and learn more about the early Arizona settlers and how they lived at Pioneer Arizona Living History Museum.
If you have an extra day, head north for a day trip to Sedona vortex and enjoy the beautiful sights of the red rocks, hike at numerous trailheads in Red Rock State Park, shop at many of the New Age shops and galleries downtown, and explore Sedona’s red rock landscape on an adventurous jeep tour.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would like to dedicate this shoutout to our parents, our heroes, without whom this journey would not have been possible.
