We had the good fortune of connecting with Sabrina Enriquez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sabrina, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My favorite quote is “El que quiere puede” which is Spanish for “If there is will, there is a way.” This quote means a lot to me because I have always been very goal oriented, stubborn, and determined when it comes to achieving my goals. I genuinely think that there is nothing that we cannot do once we set our minds to it. I have found that working hard for what you want is the best form of self-love and that it’s never too late or too hard to grow as a person and as a professional.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have always been a very creative/artistic person. Ever since I was young I knew that art was something that made me happy and that It was something I was good at. I went to the University of Arizona and graduated with a Bachelors in Studio Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design and a double minor in Marketing and Spanish. I am currently working in a design and fabrication firm in Tucson, Az that I am completely in love with. My road to success has been challenging, nonetheless incredible. Along the way, I learned that it’s really important to focus on yourself and never measure yourself with someone else’s ruler. No one is you and it’s important to stay true to who you are and never compare yourself to others. My brand, Top Coat, started off as an idea during the Covid-19 pandemic. I had a lot of extra time and I had always wanted to start my own business since most of my family members are self employed and have loved every second of it. Top Coat is a brand that creates unique resin coated surfaces. I mostly manipulate wooden surfaces (like cutting boards) by adding colorful resin coatings and many types of textures to create beautiful, one of a kind, designs. This creates a beautiful serving plate or decoration to your home and kitchen. I also make cup coasters, plate coasters, and notebook covers. I usually sell a lot of cutting boards that customers love to use as charcuterie boards and cup coasters. Perfect for a small get together or a classy wine night!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are many places in Tucson that provide amazing food, environments, and experiences. I would definitely take my friend to Postino, some wine, charcuterie board, paninis. The environment is great, the place is comfortable and i always want to go there. Another option for drinks would be Portal located on 4th Ave. It’s the coolest place ever. For food, I love Bison Witches also on 4th Ave, we could never go wrong with RA at La Encantada Mall or Sushi Ten on speedway. I also love hiking and Tucson has many great hiking spots like 7 Falls!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The person that I am today would not be possible if it weren’t for the love and unconditional support that my family has given to me. My parents and two brothers are the most amazing people that I have in my life. They have stuck by me through every bump on the road and have been nothing but patient and supportive of me. I really owe everything to them and they motivate me everyday to keep going.
