We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Root and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Samantha, what do you attribute your success to?
A compass tattooed on my left wrist always reminds me to stay the course; not checking out regardless how hard things get. I intentionally chose the left wrist so that when I’m holding on to the steering wheel I can twist ever so slightly and see it. It has become my trademark amongst clients and those who know me. Faith Driven, People Inspired. My company now has this phrase trademarked and are the two factors my brand is successful. When you choose to be Faith driven ( notice I did not say Bible thumper) it means you’re working for something greater than yourself. Doing the right thing is not always easy because in essence you are committing to always do the right thing even if it means you will be less than popular. Being Faith driven does however come with it’s perks- you can change the world one person at a time. This is where people inspired kicks in. As the leader of my ship, I encourage that everyone on the team places people first. Choosing to be people inspired allows us to focus on the HUMAN instead of the instant gratification; which in our case is selling houses. We do not sell to sell, instead we make sure it would be the right thing for that person. If we see someone in need, prayer, encouragement we stop what we are doing to assist. Without these values we would be nothing different… it is our NICHE.
What should our readers know about your business?
I own Niche Home Team based out of Arizona and next year we will be in Texas (where I am originally from). We are a full service real estate team that does everything opposite of what the “real estate world” tells us to do. On purpose we make sure that all we do will leave a legacy. For over a decade I tried leaving real estate because it can be a peaks and valley type industry (we are 100% commission). However, a little over a year ago I quit a six figure job to pursue what I knew I was supposed to do: real estate. I literally went from six figures to ZERO $ and I have not looked back since. I knew that in order for amazing things to happen I needed to make room for bold faith. Now don’t get me wrong, I did not leave the job because I wanted to. I left because the company vision changed and my heart was no longer in it. I swore from that moment on that I would never work for someone that did not have my same values. So I became a full time Momprenuer and got my God-given purpose trademarked. Outside of my family this is the one thing I am most proud of. I own and operate a company that has the slogan: A Faith Driven, People Inspired Company. HOW POWERFUL IS THAT?! If someone doesn’t like it, then it means we will not share the same value and mission from the get go. My team would not be the right fit, but we are happy to refer to someone that would be. Niche Home Team isn’t looking to be the #1 team in Arizona or the world. We are seeking to make the difference in one person’s life, knowing that if we stay the course with this philosophy we will help make the world a better place.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
WOW! A whole week to visit places in Arizona. I live in the west valley, so one place on the list is Peoria Artisan Brewery. Local place with great food, drinks and the staff is awesome. Katie is our gal when we visit and have known her a few years now. Scottsdale is next on the list because it has Postino’s and Hyatt Gainey Ranch. Honestly, you could stay the entire week there. Lake Pleasant is not far on the list, because being a Texas gal at heart anytime you can hang out on a boat with good friends and great tunes there is nothing more fun!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It takes a tribe to be successful, and in this case it takes a very special group of people and resources to put up with me LOL! I want to first thank my husband and kids for allowing me to pursue my God-given purpose. The unconditional love and support they extend my way is priceless and not taken for granted. I want to thank Rebecca Jones because without her constant belief in me I would not have had the clarity to quit a six figure job cold turkey to pursue my greatness. My Broker, David Roney. MAN! I am super Blessed that he is in my corner. This man shows me consistent patience when I am less than administratively efficient. He is the first call I make any time there is a real estate question, and he is one of the first people I call when I need fervent prayer. His cheesy jokes also make this a person I call friend. My team member and gangster for life. Her name is Crystal McKenna and she lives and breathes Niche’s mission. She is true joy and one of the most humble and inspiring women I know. I still often wonder how I got so lucky to get her on my team. I have a whole tribe of service partners that without them my team would not be accomplishing the monumental things we are. I love them, and they love us back! Resources- Lots and lots of books but the three that stand out the most are: The One Thing The Road Less Stupid Fear Is My Homeboy Podcasts- Can’t forget those either: Elevation Church ( I listen to the Sunday recording on Wednesdays) The Dean Graziosi Show The #Fearboss Show The One Thing with Geoff Woods Planners and supplies- I am a PLANNER NERD GAL! *These things deserve shout out because without them I would have no where for my thoughts and plans to go.
