We had the good fortune of connecting with Samira Azish and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samira, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?

What makes me happy is to have a successful business and see my clients happy with a big smile when they leave my salon.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

I have always been interested in Art. I started painting when I was 18. After finishing high school I decided to become a hairstylist. I always imagined myself as a beautician. Immediately After cosmetology school, I found a job in a professional hair salon and I worked hard for 2 years as an assistant and I learned so much from my teacher. Hair Coloring was my favorite from the beginning. I continued painting and drawing portraits with different technique. I moved to London in early 2000 and worked for Tony and Guy Hair Salon for 2 years. It was a great experience and learned so much from them as well. Then, I moved back to my country and decided to have my own business which last for about 15 years. I got married and moved in US in 2015. I enrolled in Aveda Cosmetology School and I got my Cosmetology license here as well. I have had my own business in Phoenix since 2017.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Definitely, I will take my friends to Sedona to see and enjoy the incredible mountains. Take them to the fine restaurant in Sedona and have them to try fried cactus. I’ll take them to the Phoenix Art museum. My favorite food is sushi and Indian food.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

First, I need to thank my brother who helped and encouraged me to to follow my heart and my passion. He has always supported me in life. Second is my husband where he has supported me since I moved to US and has done everything for me.
