Meet Sarah | Acrylic Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“My time will come soon.” This saying keeps me going when things don’t go my way. There’s plenty of times where things simply didn’t work out and it gets discouraging. That affirmation is a reminder that if it didn’t happen, then it’s not meant to be. Eventually my time will come soon.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art consists of acrylic and sometimes resin. I specialize in realistic paintings of celebrities and family. Most of my work focuses on celebrities who make music because either their photo is so good I want to recreate it using paint and adding my own twist that represents them or their music moves me whenever I hear it. I automatically get ideas on how my piece will turn out when I see them or hear their song and put my vision into a canvas. Getting where I am today did take a lot of energy and dedication. Although I’m not exactly satisfied where I am, I know I’m going to get there. It takes patience and consistency.

I love creating art pieces because it allows me to bring my ideas and visions to life. I want that for other people as well. They might have an idea they want to portray but don’t know how, don’t feel like doing it, or wants their vision brought to life in my art style.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take my bestie to a First Friday event and Pemberton Phoenix. Both are truly a vibe. First Friday let’s you see dope artwork booths and the creatives behind it in our city. It’s a great place to make connections, buy cute-eclectic things, grab some food, and vibe. Pemberton Phoenix is a decked out community center filled with food trucks, crystal shops, hidden boutiques, yoga, and movie nights. Saint Pasta food truck is a strong recommendation to try. It made my mouth water. The Pemberton Phoenix is a vibe when it’s dark because the colorful soothing lights. Definitely think about going!

God, my family, my significant other, friends/supporters, Artlink, New Studio Church, and various artists that inspire me to keep painting and get creative.
