We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Castillo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, how does your business help the community?
My business is supporting fellow Mother’s in their breastfeeding journey. By making jewelry from their breastmilk, Ive created a way for them to celebrate the hard work and dedication that goes into breastfeeding their little one!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My business revolves around the trust of my clients. They mail me items that they want professionally preserved and turned into jewelry. I get countless packages in the mail, containing bits and pieces of the lives of my clients. It’s so humbling to be trusted with those wonderful bits and pieces. Whether it’s their loved one’s ashes, breastmilk, wedding flowers…that’s what keeps me busy. That they’re trusting me to make them something amazing.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take them to The Little One for some lunch! This is one of my favorite places. The owner/employees are so kind, and the food is phenomenal.
We would probably do some hiking, maybe check out the Desert Museum also!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would be completely amiss if I didn’t give a shout-out to Christa Lebron owner of Chez Peachy LLC! She gave me the confidence boost I needed to let go of my fears and start the business I wanted. She’s a wonderful friend, and fantastic local baker here in Tucson.
