We had the good fortune of connecting with Sausha Parham and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sausha, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
One thing that many may be aware of, as well as myself until I got into this industry, is that it is really hard to deal w/ banks and other types of payment processors. My brand is Cannabis adjacent, not even directly Cannabis. I have a brand of Hemp / Vegan rolling papers. However, they treat me as if I am dealing Cannabis. With that, I have had to jump through so many hoops to simply be able to process credit card payments on my website. Now I truly understand why it is considered a cash only business right now until Federally approved. Gratefully, we made it successfully through the process and now have everything set up the way we need to in order to thrive in the industry!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is called Trap Natural Premium Rolling Papers. What sets my brand apart from others is that my rolling papers are made of Hemp and are Vegan. They are fully plant based. There are no chemicals, no additives, no nicotine and no tobacco. I am most proud of the purpose behind my brand. It is to simply provide a cleaner product, free of any unnecessary toxins. We got rid of all the crap that is not good for you!

It took a lot of hard work to get where I am today w/ my business. I’ve had to jump through so many hoops w/ banks etc. I overcame the challenges by being persistent and educating myself on the laws and rhetoric. Every “No” that I received just made the fire burn brighter. I am happy that I didn’t give up and kept pushing through each roadblock.

The biggest lesson for me is: Never give up! If you have a vision in your mind, you can create it in your reality. It simply takes hard work, persistence and consistency. It just probability if you think about it. The further you go without giving up, you’ll, eventually, turn around and realize how far you’ve come. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Do not worry about how many steps you have ahead of you. Only focus on the specific step you’re on. Next thing you know, you’re at the top of the staircase!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I personally reside in the Cincinnati, OH area. It is a very beautiful place with rich history and scenery. We’re build on several hills similarly to San Francisco. So I would def have to take them to see some of my favorite views in the city. Our skyline is to die for! Next, downtown Cincinnati has a lot of new bars and restaurants in the OTR (Over the Rhine) area. There are too many to name, but one of my faves right now is Copper & Flame. It is basically like Dave & Busters but for Adults and with alcohol! You buy a card and get electronic pours with some of your fave drinks, cocktails, beer and wine alike. It is so Dope!

We also have a great art scene. So I’d have to take them to see some visiual art, music, etc. The possibilities are endless!

When You’re in the city it is time to drink eat and soak in the views! Its beautiful and will not disappoint.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I know it may sound cliche, but I have to give a HUGE shoutout to all my family, friends and loved ones. They have all been really supportive with anything and everything I have set out to do. Especially, with my latest business venture. People have offered encouragement to keep going and never give up in those tough times I thought of quitting. They’ve offered support / assistance. Any post that is shared on social media or any opportunity or referral I am given, I am so grateful and thankful for. The fact of the matter is, a business requires the participation of others in order to be successful. So I am so amazed at how people have showed up for me, even strangers!
