Meet Savanna Carmichael | Model, Actress & side show performer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Savanna Carmichael and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Savanna, why did you pursue a creative career?
Art in all forms has always spoken to me and I wanted to be one of the creative individuals that I always looked up to growing up. Paintings and photographs can tell such a story and express emotion. I wanted to create in my own form with makeup, fashion and acting.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My work either in modeling, makeup, acting, sideshow performance is all about celebrating who you are and embracing all of the styles that you enjoy. When beginning my journey I actually started as a vape model promoting products for companies. As I grew and my portfolio changed I wanted to be the person I would have loved to see in the industry both fashion and fitness growing up. It hasn’t been easy but all of the ups and downs have honestly taught me so much and I would not change that. I am so excited to have walked runways and seeing my face in magazines. My story I would want the world to know is to keep going and don’t give up. I am a survivor of 2 eating disorders that I suffered with for 12 years of my life and recovery from that has taught me so much about loving yourself. Everyone I have met in the recovery community as well even if it isn’t for the same thing and seeing how far they have come has been amazing. Not being so self critical is a big part of what I want to share with the world. Even if your style is different embrace it, that’s what makes you unique and stand out. Art is subjective to each person and sharing your art form is the best thing you can do. My story is just beginning and I’m so excited to see where it takes me and for all of the people I have the opportunity to meet and work with.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Definitely graffiti alley in Roosevelt Row, Phoenix. It’s where I had my first photoshoot out here and the artwork is amazing! As far as food there are so many amazing restaurants and coffee shops it’s hard to choose! It would be an all day adventure of taking them to try things that we didn’t have back in North Carolina.
Jerome would be another place, all of the older architecture and I have a few friends that would enjoy the spooky factor.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people I have met and close friends of mine, as well as family that I would like to thank. Too many names to write out but in all honesty I wouldn’t be where I am without their support and the support of the following that I am growing. I am so thankful for everyone and the ability to have this platform.
