We had the good fortune of connecting with Sheldranice Newton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sheldranice, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my t-shirt business back in 10th grade, and it’s been a journey I’ve loved ever since. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a passion for arts and crafts. Growing up, I was always drawn to creating and expressing myself through different mediums—whether it was painting, drawing, or DIY projects. When I discovered that I could combine my love for art with fashion, I immediately knew I had found my calling. Starting my business at a young age felt like a natural progression. It gave me a way to channel my creativity into something that could not only reflect my personal style but also connect with others who appreciate unique, custom designs. Over the years, my passion has only grown stronger. Running my own business has allowed me to learn so much about creativity, entrepreneurship, and perseverance, and it’s truly become a part of who I am. It’s exciting to see how far I’ve come, and I’m excited to keep pushing myself to innovate and bring fresh, meaningful designs to my customers.

What should our readers know about your business?
Firstly, my business is a small business located in Dallas, Tx I am now 21 years old and this has been my passion forever. What sets me apart from others is the personal touch and authenticity I bring to every design. Each t-shirt is a reflection of my creativity, and I take great pride in offering custom, high-quality products that resonate with my customers. Whether it’s through the colors I use, the messages I convey, or the overall aesthetic, my goal is to make every piece feel like something special. I am incredibly proud of how far I’ve come. Running my own business has taught me so much about resilience, problem-solving, and the power of believing in yourself. Of course, the journey hasn’t been easy. In the early years, there were plenty of challenges—balancing school, managing finances, and learning how to market my products effectively. But I always remained focused on my passion for creating and my commitment to growing the business. I learned to embrace each obstacle as an opportunity to learn and improve. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of persistence and adaptability—being able to pivot when things don’t go as planned, and always staying open to new ideas and feedback. I have reached this point in my journey thanks to the unwavering support of my peers and family, who have consistently encouraged me to stay focused and persevere, even during challenging times. Throughout the ups and downs, I never once considered giving up. While the path hasn’t always been easy, I’ve learned that success comes from maintaining patience, staying grounded, and working together with a clear vision. I truly believe that as long as you remain focused, avoid rushing the process, and keep faith in your abilities, you can overcome any obstacle and achieve your goals. One important lesson I’ve learned along the way is that you can give your absolute best and pour your heart into your work, but sometimes it’s impossible to fully satisfy everyone. As a business owner, I’ve come to understand that while customer feedback is invaluable, it’s equally important to recognize that not every challenge or expectation can be met, no matter how much effort you put in. What matters most is staying true to your vision, consistently delivering quality, and learning from each experience to continue improving. What I want the world to know about my brand is that it’s not just about creating t-shirts it’s about expressing individuality, embracing creativity, and empowering people to wear their stories. Every design is a reflection of my passion for art and self-expression, and my goal is to provide high-quality, unique pieces that resonate with my customers on a personal level. I want my brand to be a reminder that creativity has no limits, and that we all have a voice worth sharing. Whether it’s through a bold statement or a subtle design, I aim to create something that makes people feel confident, inspired, and connected to something larger than just a product. At the heart of my brand is a commitment to authenticity, quality, and the belief that with passion and perseverance, you can create something meaningful.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting Dallas for a week, I’d make sure to show them the city’s best mix of culture, food, nightlife, and local flair. Here’s an itinerary that would guarantee an unforgettable trip:

Day 1: Exploring the Arts District & Dinner with a View
Start the week with a visit to the Dallas Arts District—it’s the largest urban arts district in the U.S. and a perfect introduction to the city’s creative vibe. We’d stroll through the Dallas Museum of Art, then to check out some stunning modern art and sculptures. Afterward, we could grab lunch at Klyde Warren Park, a green oasis that’s right in the heart of the city, and enjoy food from one of the local food trucks. The food trucks are my absolute favorite especially the “pink truck” as I like to call it with the amazing funnel fries.

For dinner, I’d take them to The Perot Museum of Nature and Science for a quick walk through (it’s cool and interactive), followed by a dinner at Kitchen and Cocktails, a chic spot with craft cocktails and a laid-back atmosphere. If we’re still in the mood to hang out, we could check out The Nines for a fun, upscale nightlife experience.

Day 2: Brunch, Shopping & Happy Hour
On Day 2, we’d start the morning with brunch at Snooze AM and Eatery—it’s a local favorite for classic brunch fare like mimosas and avocado toast. Afterward, we’d head over to NorthPark Center, Dallas’ high-end shopping mall, where you can find everything from designer brands to cool boutique shops.

For a late afternoon pick-me-up, we’d stop by The Rustic, a laid-back spot with live music and craft beer that’s perfect for hanging out with a chilled vibe. Afterward, we can explore Bishop Arts District—an eclectic neighborhood filled with unique boutiques, trendy restaurants, and some of the best local bars in Dallas.

Day 3: Uptown Vibes
Day 3 would be all about taking in the Dallas skyline and getting active. We’d start the day shopping and lunch. This will also give us enough time to explore the new exhibits.

For lunch, we’d grab something at Savor, the restaurant located inside Klyde Warren Park. Afterward, we could take a stroll through the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, which is absolutely beautiful during the spring and fall months.

In the evening, we’d head to the Uptown area for some upscale nightlife. Dinner at Dakota’s Steak House offers a great selection of delicious juicy steak, craft beers and gourmet dishes.

Day 4: Historic Dallas & Nightlife in North Dallas
On Day 4, we’d immerse ourselves in Dallas’ history with a visit to the Wonder Bar, which focuses on the pretty girl photography with wonderful drinks. Then, we’d walk around the historic West End District before grabbing lunch at The Henry in Deep Ellum,

For the evening, Deep Ellum is where the real fun begins. This vibrant, artsy neighborhood has a lively nightlife scene with tons of bars, music venues, and live performances. We’d grab drinks at The Balcony Club for a laid-back, intimate setting with live jazz, then check out Bomb Factory for a concert or live event.

Day 5: Day Trip to Fort Worth & Cowtown
If we’re up for an adventure, I’d take them on a day trip to Fort Worth, just 30 minutes outside Dallas. There, we’d visit the Fort Worth Stockyards to get a taste of the city’s Wild West history. We could enjoy a fun cowboy-themed lunch at H3 Ranch before exploring the local museums, including the Kimbell Art Museum.

Day 6: The Best of Dallas Food & Drink
We’d dedicate Day 6 to exploring the local food scene. Start the day with breakfast at Yolk, then head to Trinity Groves for a relaxed lunch, which has great restaurants offering everything from tapas to modern Southern cuisine. Later, we’d hit the Dallas Farmers Market for a local experience, exploring the fresh produce, handmade goods, and local snacks.

For dinner, I’d take my friend to Tei-An for incredible Japanese food (their soba noodles are a must-try), then we could finish the night at High & Dry for rooftop drinks with an amazing view of the skyline.

Day 7: Relaxed Vibes & Farewell Dinner
For the final day, we’d take it easy. Maybe a leisurely brunch at The Clover Club before walking around the Dallas World Aquarium to see some exotic wildlife. In the afternoon, we could relax at White Rock Lake—a peaceful spot for a picnic, paddle boating, or just enjoying the outdoors.

For the grand finale, I’d take them to Fearing’s Restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton for a luxurious and unforgettable dinner, featuring top-notch dishes like blackened redfish and the famous “Texas Lobster Bisque.”
