We had the good fortune of connecting with Diana Dorel Gutierrez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Diana Dorel, what role has risk played in your life or career?
With every new endeavor there is an element of risk. Anything can happen-there are unlimited possibilities, but if you never take a risk and venture beyond what you know, you miss out on all the awesome surprises, up-levels and growth.
For me, I’ve learned to reframe risk as a necessary step to the creative process. There’s a difference between just blindly jumping into a new path from a space of fear or anxiety….and consciously jumping from a grounded space. Whether it is starting a new business, taking the next step in my relationship or even embarking on a new hobby, I trust my intuition and when it says it’s time to jump, I listen! To me, that is authentic risk taking.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I run two businesses that on the outside seem very different but in actuality, overlap quite a bit!
I am a real estate agent based in Arizona and also a relationship coach and mentor, working with clients from all over the US and world.
Getting my real estate license was a surreal experience-I actually got it at the start of the global pandemic and so many people told me I was crazy to step into the industry at that time.
But drawing upon how I run my coaching business, which is 100% virtual, adapting to the pandemic was not all that different than what I was used to and I found creative ways to be of service and build my real estate brand, Diana Has Homes.
I’ve been featured on NDTV and also in the Wall Street Journal as an agent to watch and I attribute that a lot to simply moving beyond the fear and ‘noise’ of negativity and what the ‘trends’ are…and really moving from a space of service and faith.
I also learned that real estate is first and foremost a relationship business-people want to feel heard and seen and one of my special gifts is an uncanny ability to laser in on what is most important to the client, beyond the words they are saying. I love people and drawing upon my intuitive and creative skills to create a unique experience and guide them to their home or in the selling of their home.
I feel so grateful to be a sought-after agent here in Arizona and to continue to add value to the buyers and sellers I’m called to work with!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’d start in Tombstone, near Tucson, AZ, the “town too tough to die,” go see the re-enactment and saloons and then make our way north to the Phoenix Metro area-there is so much to see and so many delicious places to eat. Some of my favorites?
Flower Child in Gilbert-healthy, delicious meals. A jaunt to Old Town Scottsdale on a First Thursday to check out the art walk, drink wine and see the beautiful galleries.
And then if we’re feeling adventurous, take a raft down the Salt River, see the wild horses and relax under the sunshine!
For those wanting a more spiritual experience, drive 2.5 hours from Phoenix up north to magical Sedona-check out the Vortexes, crystal shops and get your aura read at Spirit Stone!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to give a shout out to my real estate team, The Hello Neighbor Team, led by Martha Fuller and Lisa Funk. They have been instrumental in my journey into this industry and their belief in me and all the support and guidance they continue to exude has been so appreciative and invaluable.
