We had the good fortune of connecting with Shuree Enkhbold and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shuree, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
For me, honesty is the most important value. Growing up in Mongolia, a developing country, I have seen firsthand how corruption and dishonest business practices can stunt the growth and prosperity of a country. I think it is imperative that people are honest and follow through on their word as this is the fundamental building block to a functioning society.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am proud that I am the first Mongolian to obtain a doctorate degree in Piano Performance. Throughout my studies, I have performed both classical and Mongolian pieces to a wide range of international audiences. I hope to continue to use my art to share the beauty of both Mongolian and classical music. As part of my graduate studies, I also studied entrepreneurship, and have been able to use these skills to grow my audience and create a successful piano teaching studio. In the future, I hope to scale my teaching business to a nationwide music academy.

Getting through my doctorate posed several challenges, from difficult coursework to obstinate faculty. I overcame these challenges by persevering and holding on to my passion. Along the way, I have learned that people are capable of much more than they initially think and that challenges are needed to fully unleash one’s potential.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would do a road trip!

I would start in the North, at Lake Powell. After spending a day on the lake, we would go to Antelope Canyon and marvel at the natural settings. Next up, I will bring my friend to the south rim of the Grand Canyon where I tied the knot with my husband. Eventually, make our way down to Tucson where one of my favorite spots is Seven Falls Trail in Sabino Canyon. Also, the most exciting part of being in Arizona is the wildlife.

Must go places like Cornish Pasty Co (Phoenix), Time Market (Tucson), and Zemam’s (Tucson) for delicious meals.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate this shoutout to my husband for his support and love throughout my professional and personal endeavors. Happy Anniversary!
