We had the good fortune of connecting with Siara Rochell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Siara, so before we jump into specifics about your story and work, let’s start higher level. What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I have learned during my journey is that if you want to be successful you need to be persistent and have focus. If you look up the definition of persistence in a dictionary it says that it is firm or obstinate continuance in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition. I love it. Life would be boring if everything was easy. I have learned to put my mind in a bold state when I sense or feel that something difficult or complicated is coming up. This has helped me grow mentally to a level that I would never have thought I would have been able to in a million years. Now each obstacle that I face in life I approach it in a much better way than the previous one. This has been a very important part of my life since I strongly believe that from every situation no matter the level of importance you can learn and grow from it. Life is all about ups and downs and in my opinion, it is more important how we manage the downs instead of the ups. What I mean by this is that the ups will always be happy and comfortable but if you learn how to manage the downs that’s when the magic happens.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I love fashion and helping people look good on a budget. I always tell my Instagram friends and store customers that you don’t need to break the bank to look fab and I think that is one of the things that sets my online store and blog apart from others. As a boricua Latina, it is important to me to provide content in both English and Spanish for my Latino community, that’s why you will always find my content written in both English/Spanish. I’m proud of every one of my businesses but right now I’m super excited about my new podcast “Dos Latinas Podcast” which I co-host with Rosa Cardenas. This podcast is all about inspiring and motivating our audience to believe in themselves and work hard to achieve their goals and we do so by inviting guests to the show that are willing to be transparent about their journey to success. Dos Latinas Podcast is my new baby and I’m really enjoying every part of the process and journey. I’m not even close to where I want to be in life right now business-wise but I would say that everything I have achieved until this day is all because of long hours of hard work, reading and learning new things for example when I decided to start the podcast I didn’t have an idea where to start, how to edit, what equipment was the best to record, etc, I spend months reading and doing research on how to do a podcast until I finally learned how to do everything myself, the same happened with my online store I didn’t have guidance on how to start a business, I did my research until my store was up and running. I believe that when you truly want to do something there’s nothing that can stop you, if you don’t know how to do something just googled it, the internet seriously knows everything so there are no excuses. I learned along the way that you should start before you are ready. Sometimes we want everything to be perfect before launching a project and perfection just doesn’t exist so I learned the hard way that you just need to start and you will learn and modify along the way, you will learn what works and what doesn’t. Oh and please understand that money should NOT be your main focus when you start a business, you will eventually see the money but it could take a lot of years before you see it, some people get frustrated because they think they will see a lot of money right away.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
OMG, I have so many recommendations for people visiting AZ. The following are all my favorites. Restaurants: Breakfast Club, Breakfast Kitchen Bar, Tapas Papa Frita, and North Italia. Shopping: Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Fashion Square. Go for a walk and nightlife: Old Town Scottsdale, Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarter. Beauty Salon: ETCH Salon. For hair color ask for Lily Calaway and for the perfect ponytail and hairstyles ask for Antonio Estrada. Botox: Meagan Errichiello at Scottsdale Center for Plastic Surgery. Hotels: Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, Mountain Shadows Resort, and The Scott Resort & Spa.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my mother. My mother has always taught me to be a strong woman and to always believe in me. My mother raised me as a single mother and never complained about life, on the contrary, she was always happy and grateful. There are no words that can explain how grateful I am for all the sacrifices she has done for me and there’s no doubt that without her I would not be where I am today.
