We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacy Ayiers-Latimore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stacy, how do you think about risk?
I believe that taking risk is the only way you will know if you can grow and succeed. Nothing can be scarier, but nothing can be more rewarding.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started Stacy Jewel Beauty with my youngest daughter to explain how to become an entrepreneur. It turns out I got excited about beauty and wanted to dig in to the business. What I am most excited about is promoting self worth and inner beauty as well as outer beauty. I got where I am today by pushing through a lot of obstacles, being optimistic, positive and working hard. It was easy at first, but as I saw challenges it got harder.
One thing was how could I create products that women would love when there are so many out there. I overcame the challenges by allowing myself to think outside the box and listen to customers. One great lesson I learned along the way is that being different isn’t negative. Someone has to start a new path for others to follow. It just takes longer for people to see it.
I want the world to know that Stacy Jewel Beauty is more than a beauty brand. It is a line made to realize that beauty comes from within. I want women of all backgrounds to feel amazing when they walk out the house. No matter If they put on a full face or just glam up with lip gloss.
The goal of this beauty line is to promote self worth and allow women to find beauty products that last, don’t harm their skin, actually work at fraction of the cost. We want to build bonds and leaves legacies.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For a week long trip we would explore places like Westgate, downtown Scottsdale and Tempe Townlakes.
I would take them to Westgate in Glendale AZ. The atmosphere is amazing especially during the holiday season. With many restaurants to choose from guest can enjoy a great dinner and a movie or watch a live band play in the open air while horse drawn carriages and holiday decor hover around them.
Downtown Scottsdale has every bar and food type you can image in walking distance. They also have bike cabs that can drive you around. Guests can enjoy a night out in the city and feel like they are walking in NYC.
Tempe town lakes is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. You can ride boats and walk the busy Mill Ave, that has bars, clubs, gift shops and more.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband, William, has pushed me to try new things and take greater chances. Without his input I wouldn’t have completed a lot of great ideas for my business. One being the mobile boutique I currently run and sell beauty products out of instead of a brick and mortar.
