We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Shields and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Electrolysis has been around for over 100 years. It was started by an optometrist who is trying to remove ingrown eyelashes from their patients in the late 1800s
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Arizona Advanced Electrology Training started off with continued education events all throughout the nation and virtual international presence. in the last couple years we worked to re-create a training program here in Arizona. The state used to have to trade schools in the area that close down around the year 2000, however we still need to train new professionals and it is my goal to bring back education of our industry to Arizona. Our Mission: Where passion meets education; building a community of advanced electrology professionals Values: We only grow our practice by the stories we hear and cases we face. AAET works to use these real life case studies and create a customized and comprehensive approach to the practice of electrolysis. It is incredibly important to utilize the passion and enthusiasm we have in our own practice to build a future for electrolysis. Vision: For those seeking quality, progressive education in the field of electrolysis. AAET is a place for all practitioners to advance their practice through hands on training and seminars in the field and allied fields we encounter.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh my! Well I am Phoenix girl born and raised. I would love to take them hiking some of my favorite trains like, Piestewa Peak, Shaw Butte and South Mountain. Then I would take them out for great bites at St. Francis, the Yard & Lladera. We would definitely enjoy some destination beauty treatments at my favorite Medspa Senza Pelo MedSpa. For day trips away I would bring them to Bisbee or Mt Lemon (in the south) or head north to Jerome, Sedona and the Grand Canyon.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely I’d love to give a shout out to my mother Maria DeNicola who began as Electrologist in 1982. She helped me become the practitioner I am today and encouraged me to train with enthusiasm and compassion.
