We had the good fortune of connecting with Sukhjot Singh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sukhjot, what role has risk played in your life or career?
According to Scrabble, there are 4,791 words that start with the letter R. This may be just a fun fact for most people, but for me, the letter R has always held special significance. Among these 4,791 words are words like “risk,” “rebel,” and “reject,” all of which have played significant roles in my life.

Growing up in a first-generation Indian household, I was raised to believe that making mistakes or standing out in any way was looked down upon. In an Indian household, you are given a few career paths: you can be a doctor, lawyer, engineer, or a failure. However, as I got older, I began to realize that this fear of failure and rejection of being different was holding me back. I was missing out on opportunities and experiences because I was too afraid to take risks.

So, in college, I made the decision to embrace risk and embrace the letter R. I changed my major from pre-med and started taking on new experiences and challenges, such as entrepreneurship, videography, and marketing, and stepping out of my comfort zone. It was difficult at first, but I began to see progress and my confidence started to grow. This paid off when I landed a job at a Silicon Valley tech startup straight out of college, something I never would have considered before.

As I worked with the team, I realized that embracing risk had changed my life. I was no longer afraid to speak up or try new things, as risk-taking and failing fast were part of the culture in Silicon Valley. However, I later realized that I had become content with my tech job. I had been dabbling with videography for years and had even been making some side money from it, but I was too afraid to pursue it full-time. That is, until the pandemic hit.

After the pandemic hit, I realized that life is too short not to follow my dreams. So, I decided to take a chance and pursue videography full-time. I left my tech job and started focusing on my business, and it has been paying off. I am finally able to turn my passion into a career, and I am so happy that I took that risk.

Now, I am moving to New York City to pursue my dreams even further. It is a huge risk, but I am excited for the opportunities and experiences it will bring. I have learned that taking risks can lead to incredible rewards and that embracing the unknown can be an empowering and life-changing experience.

So, tying it back to the start, out of the 4,791 words that start with the letter R in Scrabble, I am grateful to have embraced the letter R and all that it represents in my life. I am no longer afraid to take risks or follow my dreams. I know that the road ahead may be uncertain, but I am ready to embrace it and all that it has to offer. My life is changing for the better, and I am excited for what the future holds.

Embracing risk has been a transformative experience for me. It has allowed me to break out of my comfort zone and follow my passions. I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences that taking risks has brought me and I am excited for what the future holds.

My art is videography. I have always been interested in film and video production, and I have been dabbling in it for years. I have always been drawn to the creative process of telling a story through visual media.

One of the things that sets me apart from others is my attention to detail and my ability to tell a compelling story through my videos. I am always looking for new and innovative ways to capture and edit footage, and I am constantly learning and improving my skills.

I am most proud of the fact that I have been able to turn my passion for videography into a full-time career. It has been a long journey to get to where I am today professionally, and it definitely wasn’t easy. I faced many challenges along the way, but I persevered and worked hard to overcome them.

One of the biggest lessons I have learned is the importance of believing in myself and following my passions. It can be easy to get caught up in the expectations of others, but it is important to stay true to yourself and pursue the things that bring you joy and fulfillment.

I want the world to know that I am a dedicated and passionate videographer, and I am always looking for new and exciting projects to work on. My brand and story are all about embracing risk and following your dreams, no matter how uncertain the path may seem.
