We had the good fortune of connecting with Syndenn Sweet and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Syndenn, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
My name is Syndenn Sweet, I am an Author, Visual Artist, Luthier, Radio Personality, Multi-instrumentalist, Singer/ Song writer and Poet. I also am the Co-owner of Sad Salad Studios, a Recording studio located in the heart of Tucson, Arizona.
Something important to know about me is I am completely deaf in one ear and suffer from Ménière’s disease, so as a musician that can be very frustrating and sometimes impossible to create.
So for a long time I didn’t create. I let my diagnosis, worry stop me from making music. I realized after a while a piece of me was missing and that was music. I started singing and making music one again and almost immediately began to feel happy again. Now my life is dedicated to helping others be creative. I love teaching and creating for a younger generation. Now I Co-own Sad Salad Studios with Brian Hanner ( a professional percussionist in Tucson). Our mission is to help artists create exactly what they want in a safe and creative environment.
What should our readers know about your business?
Sad Salad Studios is unique because we truly want to help each artist we work with to be heard. We’re excited for the growth of this project and we hope to help many create and bring their music to life.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Brian Hanner – Co-Owner of my recording studio. Thank you Brian for all the love and support you show me. You always consider me and my feelings and I’ve never been on your back burner. Thank you.
