We had the good fortune of connecting with Tammy Tomich and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tammy, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I wanted to bring holistic modalities to the agricultural community. In general, holistic resources are located in urban settings. Growing up in an agricultural environment I understood how much strain time spent away from farming / ranching responsibilities can have on all involved. I thought nestling a clinic within the agricultural community would help offset the stress associated with travel time to receive services, with the hope of reaching people before chronic pain becomes an accepted lifestyle.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At 906 Wellness-Equine we provide our community an environment to support individual trauma healing and educational empowerment. We specialize in holistic modalities to include; JFB Myofascial Release, Cranial Sacral Therapy, and Equine Assisted Programs. Our hope is to assist others in releasing holding patterns by unwinding physical restrictions and behaviors, and provide resources for empowering internal restart capabilities. I believe what sets us apart from others, is our commitment in honoring the organic nature of authentic healing. We meet our client where they are at each session, understanding and respecting the roles of time and trust in individualized client care. We also offer opportunities for other licensed and/ or certified professionals to utilize our facility, staff and therapeutic herd to support their growth. Our goal is to provide an environment of trust. I believe this is the main ingredient in the recipe of healing. Within a trusted environment our vulnerabilities have the potential to come forward. It’s been a gift to witness the beautiful healing successes that happen when this occurs.
Like healing, growing a business is ongoing and often requires vulnerability.
I don’t really see being a business owner as challenging. Being a business owner is a gift. One that allows me to continue to be a Beginner, every day. I think I’ve learned that flexibility and transparency are key factors in maintaining a thriving business. Our business continues to evolve in ways that I couldn’t have anticipated nine years ago. The one thing that has stayed the same though, is our commitment to serving others. When people ask me, “ how do I start” my answer is always, “who would you like to serve ?” The reality is we all are here to serve one another with the talents we have been gifted. Our business serves the agricultural community with the talents of teaching & healing gifted to us by God.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well I’m a little bit biased to the West Valley. We would go horseback riding in the White Tanks, Skyling Park. Hiking in Estrella Regional Park. An over night stay in Sedona and head out to the Grand Canyon for a hike and moments to stare off in wonderment. Horseback adventure in Williamson Valley. Over night stay at our family cabin in Prescott. Realistically Id most likely pack most our meals and stopping at Sprouts grocery store would be a common occurrence. May not seem indulgent, however my bestie lives in the Midwest and having fresh fruits, veggies, and plant based options are a treat… oh probably multiple hot beverages stops at Jackrabbit Java !
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to the many generations of family members who’ve nurtured, encouraged, supported, empowered, and sacrificed during the experiences that have lead us to this current opportunity. And without a doubt to our Father God who knows the path we should continue to walk.
