We had the good fortune of connecting with Tari Fields and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tari, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
I would say the single most important decision I made that contributed to my success would be putting myself out there and taking a chance even if the answer could be no. The Hustle to succeed is real and maintaining the hustle is the only way I have been able to be published in 22 magazines in less than 6 months and be given the opportunity of a lifetime shooting photography at Super Bowl LVII

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe what sets me apart from others is I want to tell a story I want to make art that moves people and inspires people. I do all different types of photography but I specialize in candid and action photography. In those moments it’s a split second to capture that look between two people or the smack of a ball on a first homerun at a softball game. These are the precious moments that you want to remember the way that people felt. There will always be family pictures but will you remember that Auntie so and so tried your first cake and made a funny face because it may not be the greatest but still ate it or the look dad made when he got home and your baby walked up to him for the first time. I am proud to be able to capture these moments,

Currently, I am proud of my newest project a campaign on showcasing people why they partake in cannabis. It will be a campaign in 35mm film and Digital. I want to tell the stories of different individuals to show people that all across different walks of life their stories may be different but have a commonality when it comes to their cannabis why. I am also proud to have been a fan photographer at Super Bowl LVII and been asked back for the next Super Bowl in Vegas next year. I am proud of the 22 magazine publications I have been in in less than 6 months of shooting professionally. It has not been easy I busted my butt I am in school I am a wife and a mother of 2 kids and trying to build my business. I shoot photography almost every day and spend hours upon hours on editing but I love what I do and it’s worth it

I continue to overcome challenges it has definitely been a learning curve. I am continuously adjusting and revising my business because something comes up and I do a photoshoot I have never done before and bam I didn’t like how that happened so we need to adjust this or this took more time than I thought so I need to adjust this cost here. So I am still learning and growing every day. I take each photo shoot as an individual and we do free consultations to evaluate what is needed for each shoot so the cost price can be adequately quoted. I learned that photoshoots aren’t cookie cutter you can’t put everyone in the same box.

I want the world to know I care about each and every client. I want everyone to be comfortable and anytime we do shoots whether it be sensitive ie. a boudoir or something along those lines I sit down with the client and ask if they are comfortable with these being shared or not. If they aren’t comfortable then we don’t share them we respect the privacy of our clients to the fullest. We are also a veteran-owned business. Lastly, we want the world to know that we want to try and help everyone and we have established a client closet consisting of donations from local companies of clothing so anyone who wants to take pictures and may not have things that they can take pictures in we provide it at zero cost to our clients. We have a variety of sizes and our closet is continuing to grow our goal is to have all-inclusive sizes for both men and women because everyone deserves to feel beautiful.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, Firstly I would make sure I ordered Big Ant’s Bakery Cupcakes ahead of time because they are the best in Arizona. For Breakfast, I would probably take them to the hash kitchen or breakfast b*tch.
Then I would take a trip up north to Flagstaff to the lava tubes and Flagstaff Extreme for some fun on the obstacle course.
Then I would head back to Phoenix for some Coffee at Phoenix Strange Brew Coffee and Market for some super yummy vegan gluten-free snacks and drinks.
Than I would take them to lunch at Taco King for their birria ramen and birria tacos and oh-so-yummy fresa aqua fresca.
I may take them on a pink jeep ride at Antelope Canyon to see the beautiful colors out in Sedona and swim in the hot springs up there.
If the ballet was in town we could catch a show or go to a comedy bar.
I would definitely take them to Fogo de Chao for dinner.
I would want to showcase the best elements of Arizona its beauty and my favorite places to eat.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Oh, there are so many people that made my success possible. I would like to start with Glen Baker and Austin Wourms at Baker’s MMA and Fitness in Surprise for allowing me to take pictures when I was recovering from surgery and being able to find my passion for action photography. I would like to thank Sara Villegas for giving me my first big assignment and entrusting me with her daughter’s quinceanera, Ms Arlette Pender’s hairloks by Arlette and My hair is Beautiful for giving me the opportunity to shoot their fundraising event. Aaron Loya for allowing me to sponsor his next fight and do an awesome photoshoot to advertise for it. Kayla Reagan, and Brooke Andrew for having my back, and when I needed them they were there with no questions to take pictures. Heather Scarlett of Rinspiration Photography for being such an amazing mentor. Mika Bell of Fairy Craft Motha without her the Super Bowl LVII Opportunity wouldn’t have been possible. Alana for inspiring my what’s your why for cannabis campaign. My family my daughter Rosee for never saying no and always being willing to put on a crazy outfit. My husband for believing in me always and buying me my first camera. I wouldn’t be here without my tribe and there are so many more. The love is there for each and everyone mentioned and not because we grow together and build each other up.
