We had the good fortune of connecting with Tawny Gamboa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tawny, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
The day I ended my relationship with alcohol. Taking my life back into my own hands and creating a life of beauty.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Tawny Gamboa is a distinguished Chicana and Native artist hailing from Tempe, Arizona. As a multifaceted practitioner, she holds various roles including aura embodiment practitioner, ordained minister with the Universal Life Church, sound healing practitioner, breath-work facilitator, and instructor for both yoga and therapeutic arts.

Ms. Gamboa completed her degree in psychology, specializing in child studies, at Arizona State University. With over a decade of experience, she has diligently served children and adults in the behavioral health field across The Valley

In her meditation classes, Tawny seamlessly integrates her rich indigenous and Native American heritage, creating a unique and transformative experience for her clients.

A dedicated member of the sober community for more than three years, she is deeply committed to fostering personal growth and healing.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Tawny is a devoted mother to her two sons and black cat. In her leisure time, she enjoys exploring the great outdoors, whether it be hiking, swimming, or horseback riding.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Food and nature are my jam. We could go explore the great outdoors at a couple of my Salt River spots, have a picnic and see some wild horses. And paddle board.

If it’s the first of the month we could explore first Fridays in downtown Phoenix and see some rad local art and eat some yummy street tacos.

Republica Empanada, Pita Jungle, Cornish Pasty, Belly & Totties Asian fusion are a couple of my favorite spots to eat.

Sedona is a must; traveling to the Amitabha Stupa and Peace Park as well as check out Chocolatree organic eatery.

Anything with live music; art centers and music venues throughout The Valley

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents Rose & Ray. My boys, Leo & Milo who bring purpose to my life. I am grateful for the support of my loving family, friends, clients and soul tribe.
