We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Dave and Dawn Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor Dave and Dawn Davis, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting Gardens and Graze was a breeze for us. From the moment we met, we could feel the universe nudging us towards collaboration. It was evident that our individual flair for innovation and creativity would combine harmoniously to create something truly special. And thus, Gardens and Graze was born! As cleverly creative women with an entrepreneurial spirit, we’re always looking for new and exciting ways to express ourselves. Our gift of gab and sharp attention to detail are just some of the many tools in our arsenal that help us to turn our ideas into reality. And when it comes to crafting beautiful things, well, let’s just say that we’re seriously passionate about it!

What should our readers know about your business?
Well, let us tell you what sets Gardens and Graze apart from the rest – it’s the unique blend of experience and youthful energy that we bring to the table. Our team consists of two women- one of whom is 55 years young, while the other is a sprightly 29. Despite our age difference, we both have the same level of drive, passion, and work ethic, which allows us to make things happen quickly, efficiently, and with a touch of class that is simply unparalleled. We didn’t even know each other six months ago, but when we met, we instantly clicked. We believed in each other, and together, took the leap of faith to make our dreams a reality.

What we’re most proud of and excited about is our upcoming events, starting with our Mother’s Day Celebration and launch party on May 6th. This is just the beginning for Gardens and Graze, as we have a host of other events lined up, ready to showcase our talents to the world.

So, how did we get to where we are today? Well, it’s simple really – daily grind, hard work, and persistence. We both had different career and business backgrounds, but we believe that it is precisely this diversity that has led us to create Gardens and Graze. After our first business meeting, we kept after it, staying on task, and maintaining open communication with each other, and things happened quickly! Daily habits and to-do lists certainly help us to stay on point and focus on our goals.

Now, I know what you’re thinking – starting a business can’t be easy, can it? But let me tell you, when you find something you’re truly passionate about and have a great partner by your side, it’s not work at all. Sure, every start-up has its ups and downs, but we’ve learned to weather the storms and come out stronger on the other side. We also have a great networking family who have been crucial to our success.

Speaking of lessons learned, we’ve had a few minor challenges along the way, but we’ve always been able to breathe through them and find alternative solutions quickly. We firmly believe that everything happens for a reason, so if something is not flowing– it wasn’t meant to be!

And what do we want the world to know about Gardens and Graze? We know how to get things done. We’ll listen to your requests, work closely with you every step of the way, and make sure your event is simply stunning. Whether it’s carefully curating charcuterie and florals for a party or customizing a design workshop for friends, we are always ready to put in the hard work and bring our best ideas to the table.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If our besties were coming to visit, we would definitely be lacing up our hiking boots to conquer the majestic Camelback Mountain and probably a visit to the McDowell Mountain Preserve, which is packed with endless trails. We’d also take a leisurely stroll through the stunning Desert Botanical Garden, basking in the warm valley sun and enjoying the sweet smell of desert flowers. When we get hungry, we’d be hopping around the many restaurants and might find ourselves at Palma for some vacation vibes and awesome cocktails and apps.

And if you’re a coffee lover, boy, are you in for a treat! Provisions on 7th street is an absolute delight, serving up rich and aromatic brews all year round and with the most unique setting. You’ll be surrounded by bright light and abundance of plants! For the sports enthusiasts, we’d catch a Phoenix Suns game or any other sporting event that’s sure to get our adrenaline pumping.

If golf is more your thing, we’d hit up any of the gorgeous golf courses that are as challenging as they are breathtaking. And if you’re lucky enough to visit in the beginning of the year, you’ll have endless options for entertainment, including car shows, the Phoenix Open, the Arabian Horse Show, spring training, and so much more. Trust us, the list goes on and on, and there is no shortage of things to do here year-round.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We both feel very inspired by the novel, The Alchemist. Dawn has read it 5 times! “To realize one’s destiny is a person’s only obligation”,– a powerful statement that we both feel compelled to act on in our everyday lives.

We also would not be where we are at without our individual partners. We are both backed two very special men who have been our biggest supporters. So much of what we do is made possible by their unwavering support, and we truly couldn’t have come this far without them. We rely on their suggestions and honest feedback to help us make the best decisions for our endeavors, and we’re grateful for their constant encouragement and belief in us. Our partners deserve recognition for their pivotal role in our journey, and we’re fortunate to have them by our side. (and often lifting our heavy buckets and boards, heehee).
