Meet Teri Thomas Shaffer | Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Teri Thomas Shaffer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Teri, how do you think about risk?
Jim Rohn puts it so simply. Everything in life is a risk. From the moment you’re born, life is a risk.
Think about taking your first step. It’s a risk that you’ll fall down. But babies don’t even think about the consequences. It’s a risk to play a sport, you may get hurt, you may lose. It’s a risk to get married, it may not work, something may happen. It’s a risk to go to college and pick a major and decide it’s not for you. It’s a risk to take a job and lose that job or decide you don’t like it.
Everything in life is a risk
But if you don’t take that risk, you have no idea what your life could’ve been.
They say the biggest risk is not taking one
I’ve always been optimistic about the future. A dreamer. The big picture person and definitely not the 8-5 cubicle employee.
I prefer working for myself. Being my own boss and trying something new.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve been in the network marketing arena since 1995. When I was a child in California my dad joined a company and as a family we used the products. My stepmom would set up the skincare and makeup for parties and I was thrilled to participate. I had no idea what this business was but I loved It! When my 3rd daughter was born I joined A company and built a business and friendships, that I still have today.
What I’ve learned about this business is that it’s not easy, you need persistence, optimism, discipline, enthusiasm, and a continuing mindset of self development. It’s not just sales. It’s not just marketing. It is truly an education in leadership development and people skills.
This is a better way of doing business and a better way of life. You become the best version of yourself

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I recently Had lunch at The Mexicano and created a reel about it. It’s definitely my favorite restaurant right now! Remember I’m new here and since it’s very hot the best place to hang out is floating in a friends pool.
I would take you hiking for sure. There are so many places to hike.
My current goal is to kayak the Salt River and see the wild horses.
Sedona is beautiful and the drive down from Flagstaff to Sedona on 89 is a must!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I recently moved from Iowa to Arizona. My best support comes from my family. I have 4 daughters that inspire me and my mother who has watched me go through challenges and cheered me on But recently with my move to Arizona, my biggest cheerleaders are my followers and Facebook friends. They have been amazing!!
