We had the good fortune of connecting with Ticia Lea and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ticia, how does your business help the community?
My business is all about providing luxury services that empower people to look and feel their best. My hope is that those amazing vibes will trickle out into the community and ultimately the world. I feel so fortunate to have a career that allows me to not only pamper my beautiful clients and help them to create a stronger, deeper relationship with their skin and bodies but to express myself and my joy for living every day with people that I care so much about. It’s an absolute dream job and I couldn’t be more grateful!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My journey into the spa world began in 2000 when I went to massage school and it continues to evolve and expand every year with exciting new classes and certifications. A few years into my massage practice I decided that I wanted to add skin care to my menu and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Helping to create clear, glowing skin is such a rewarding feeling and I love being able to recommend products that I use personally so that I can vouch for the efficacy. Aging gracefully is extremely important to me. My hope is to offer a culture of self love and awareness and to share the message that we are all here to be the best version of ourselves and nothing more. As I get older I get more and more comfortable with myself and I think that really translates into my work with my beautiful clients. Humor helps me to digest the fact that there will always inevitably be some things out of my control and all I can do is my very best. As a young woman I found the concept of losing my youthfulness very challenging and I’m happy to say I have worked very diligently to beautify my insides which makes me feel pretty even though I see some of the effects of the passing time. I feel privileged to be alive and to have the opportunity to express my passion for esthetics with some of the coolest and most genuine people in LA. Whether I’m giving a customized facial, creating sexy six pack abs or making someone’s lashes pop- I will never give anything less than everything to every individual that lays on my table. At my spot, we are all VIPs every single day!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
That’s a great question! This happens yearly when my bestie visits from Iowa so I think I have this covered! Last year we tried surfing for the first time and that was an absolute blast. Not the strongest surfers but we got some jaw dropping pix! You can’t go wrong with visiting Malibu! Highly recommend. We also hiked the hidden stairs in Calabasas and fell in love with the view. If you’re a nature fan and you love a challenging hike, this is a gorgeous spot and a crazy lower body workout. For those that enjoy healthy food with a unmatched ambiance, I would definitely suggest Sun Cafe in Studio City. I must’ve referred about 15 people there and they have all become superfans. It’s not only delicious but the staff is the sweetest, they seriously make my day every time I drop in for a bite. (The fire pit is pretty stunning at night if you’re in a romantic mood.) If you’re into indulging at the spa but not into big crowds, Spa Palace downtown is my go to. The prices are great and the food is also really good. They even have vegan options. All the treatment rooms are well maintained and the body scrubs/massages are to die for. It’s also open 24 hrs which is amazing. Love it!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this interview to my bestie Bradley Ryan. I have yet to meet a kinder, more thoughtful, generous and HILARIOUS human being in my life. Not to mention drop dead gorgeous and flawless as hell. Bradley’s dedication to living authentically gives me so much joy every single day. When I’m struggling to find my voice and the self judgement is creeping in, I can always count on Bradley to remind me what’s important and just how much impact we have on each other and the world around us. Love you the moon Bradley!
