Meet Tiffany O’connor | Licensed Professional Counselor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany O’connor and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffany, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to go into business on my own to help people while having the freedom to make my own hours. As a mental health professional, I utilize various therapeutic approaches including Expressive Art, EMDR, CBT, and other evidence-based skills to support clients dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, grief, and life adjustments. Having my own practice allows me to both make a meaningful impact in people’s lives and maintain the flexibility to create a balanced schedule that works for me and my clients.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the owner and founder of Mental Envy Therapy. It is my belief each person has an innate capacity for growth and healing. Life’s obstacles can feel insurmountable, but learning self-compassion can be transformative.
My approach recognizes mental and emotional wellness as vital for holistic health. Therapy is a collaborative journey of self-discovery in a non-judgmental space. i work with my patients and together, we cultivate greater self-awareness, resilience, and balance.
Through an integrative approach using evidence-based interventions like EMDR, Expressive arts, Exposure therapy, Play/Sand therapy and CBT, as well as many other interventions, you’ll process emotions, gain new perspectives, and develop coping skills to better navigate life’s challenges.
Your inner voice is a constant companion. The goal is to empower you with insights and tools for stability, inner confidence, healthy relationships, and personal growth.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were to visit, I would prioritize her preferences while offering an array of uniquely Arizona experiences. We could explore the spiritual beauty of Sedona, the cool pines of Pinetop, the stunning formations of Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe bend, or the historic charm of Bisbee and Jerome for overnight adventures. Our active itinerary could include hiking through iconic trails at South Mountain, the Superstitions, Oak Creek Canyon and Mount Baldy, along with adventures like paddleboarding, shopping and horseback riding. We’d seek out charming restaurants and hidden local gems throughout our travels. Most importantly, though, the true highlight would be simply spending quality time together, catching up, and nurturing our friendship – that’s what would make any activity truly special.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My journey to becoming a therapist has been enriched by the support of many remarkable people. My family and friends provided unwavering encouragement, while my professors and supervisors helped shape my clinical skills and professional development. My co-workers have been instrumental in helping me thrive and build confidence in my therapeutic approach. Together, these individuals have empowered me to guide others through their own therapeutic journeys. Their collective wisdom, support, and mentorship have been invaluable in my professional growth and development.
