We had the good fortune of connecting with Ty Dunn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ty, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was tired of the long hours and underpay that comes with being a nurse. When Covid hit things were bad in healthcare and I didn’t want to risk bringing it home to my children. I then started Sadity Boss LLC. I originally started out with “Spinnanite Bags” custom made, along with custom t-shirt designs. I did really well with that and I then recently relocated my family to Phoenix where Sadity Boss Beauty Bar was born. It is a full-service salon and expansion of Sadity Boss LLC.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Sadity Boss LLC. is all about self-love & care. I believe everyone of us are beautiful in our own way. I am here to help women recognize their own beauty. I intended to do that with my unique bags and shirts giving women the chance to express themselves without judgement. I also offer yoni steam, yoni steams are a combination of herbs that can have many benefits for women. Many women use them as a part of their own self care rituals. With the expansion of Sadity Boss LLC., I want to continue to help women feel and look their best without breaking the bank. This journey has not been easy, I am a single mother of 3 that move away from everyone and everything I know with nothing but the thing that could fit into my Hummer. I worked through multiple nurse registries, as I am also an LPN, to save the money I needed. In 3 months of being in Phoenix I now have my own salon suite where I can offer women a number of services at an affordable rate. This journey taught me to never doubt myself & never give up. When I first started it felt impossible but now it’s manifested into reality. I have been through a lot to get to this point, from abuse to homelessness, broke not a dime to my name, but I’m here standing strong. My business started slow and I had to start over multiple times. Eventually I taught myself how to do everything my own from registering my business to making my own marketing material and it saved me hundreds if not thousands. Everything paid off in the end. I just want women to embrace their power and for some that could start with a simple new hair style to boost confidence within. I want young girls to know they don’t have to be perfect but if they love themselves nothing else matters because their inner light will outshine. When you hear Sadity Boss I want you to think of a strong fierce, unstoppable Boss A$$ WOMAN!! She Is a Sassy, Abundant/Attractive, Daring, Intelligent, Talented, Young BOSS!!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely say Old Town Scottsdale, my favorite place there is Loyalty Lounge they have multiple celebrities there weekly. Snooze Restaurant in Tempe, Glendale Tanger Outlets, Desert Diamond, Westgate period is always a good time, Bar Smith & Monarch Theater, Tempe town lake, and with this heat I cant forget Hurricane Harbor!!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout out my best friend Jasmine Hosea, she is the reason I am in Phoenix enjoying a great new life! I would also like to shout out Cynthoria Parrot who not only drove 24 hours to Phoenix with me from Indianapolis, but she also flew back here to celebrate the Grand Opening of my salon with me.
