Meet Via Monk | Owner and CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Via Monk and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Via, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I actually think people are sometimes surprised by my answer to this because in my personal life, I’m not naturally a huge risk taker. Even with things I enjoy like snowboarding or other more extreme activities, I’m still very calculated and focused on safety, preparation, and minimizing unnecessary risk.
That mindset honestly carries over into business too.
I don’t view risk as being reckless. I think of it more as making informed decisions when there’s uncertainty, while still being mindful and strategic.
A lot of the biggest growth moments in my career came from staying proactive when things felt uncertain. During COVID, for example, many businesses understandably pulled back. However, the companies that continued investing strategically while competition slowed down created massive momentum and market share for themselves. Watching that firsthand completely changed how I think about calculated risk in business.
For me, the biggest lesson has been that avoiding all risk can sometimes be the riskiest move long term, especially in business. Growth usually requires some level of discomfort, uncertainty, and willingness to move before everything feels 100% guaranteed.

What should our readers know about your business?
Building Vimo Digital has been one of the most rewarding and challenging experiences of my life. We specialize in paid media advertising with a strong focus on helping businesses turn ad spend into real, trackable growth through platforms like Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, and more.
What sets us apart is that we don’t just “run ads.” We focus heavily on strategy, conversion tracking, lead quality, customer behavior, and the full customer journey. A lot of businesses think paid media is simply launching campaigns, but in reality, success comes from understanding how all the moving pieces work together. We take a very hands-on, transparent, and partnership-driven approach with our clients because we genuinely care about helping them grow.
One thing I’m especially proud of is the variety of businesses we’ve been able to support, from local businesses to companies scaling into multi-million-dollar brands. Seeing clients grow, hire employees, expand locations, or hit revenue milestones because of work we contributed to is incredibly fulfilling.
Getting to where I am today definitely was not easy. Before starting Vimo Digital, I spent years working in both nonprofit organizations and agencies, learning every side of marketing, leadership, client communication, and business operations. Like many entrepreneurs, there were moments of uncertainty, self-doubt, long hours, and growing pains. Starting a business forces you to grow personally just as much as professionally.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that perfection can hold you back more than failure. I naturally tend to overthink and want everything to feel fully ready before moving forward, but entrepreneurship has taught me that growth often comes from taking action before you feel completely prepared.
I also learned that relationships matter just as much as results. Long-term success is built through trust, communication, consistency, and genuinely caring about the people you work with.
More than anything, I want people to know that behind the business is a real person who truly loves helping other businesses grow. I care deeply about producing quality work, continuing to learn, supporting clients through challenges, and building a company that feels both strategic and human at the same time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If one of my best friends was visiting for a week, the trip would probably be a mix of great food, being outdoors, staying active, and showing them some of the unique parts of Arizona that make me enjoy living here so much.
I enjoy staying active, so a lot of the trip would revolve around experiences instead of just sightseeing. We’d definitely start with an early morning hike somewhere like Camelback Mountain or Piestewa Peak followed by coffee and breakfast. Arizona mornings are hard to beat, especially before it gets too hot.
We’d also spend time in Scottsdale or Peoria because there’s such a good mix of restaurants, golf, and wellness-focused spots.
For food, I’d mix in both local favorites and nicer restaurants. Probably tacos one night, sushi another, a good steakhouse at some point, a brunch spot with a view. I also love places with good patios and atmosphere where kids are welcomed and you can bring your dogs.
We’d probably do a weekend trip up to Sedona. Between the hiking, golf, red rocks, scenery, and slower pace, it’s one of the most beautiful places in Arizona. If they visited during winter, I’d absolutely take them snowboarding in northern Arizona because a lot of people are surprised you can snowboard and hike in the same state.
For me, the best experiences are usually a combination of good people, being active, great food, and moments that feel genuine and memorable rather than overly planned.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d definitely give a huge shoutout to Adam Arkfeld, the former owner of ParaCore before the agency was acquired by a full-service agency. He taught me so much about leadership, business ownership, and personal growth throughout my career.
One of the biggest lessons he taught me was that if you wait until you feel “ready,” you’ll probably never start. That’s something I still have to remind myself of regularly because I naturally tend to overthink and want everything to feel fully prepared before moving forward.
From a DISC personality perspective, I naturally lean more toward perfectionism, which can be both a strength and a weakness. While it pushes me to produce high-quality work, it can also lead to overthinking, second-guessing, and delaying things longer than necessary. He helped me realize that sometimes things are already good enough to move forward, even if they don’t feel perfect yet. That lesson has played a huge role in both my personal and professional growth.
