We had the good fortune of connecting with Yesenia Alvarez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yesenia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to get into real estate because I know that was the sure way to build generational wealth for my family.

Real estate deals can take weeks of work with the risk of no pay if it falls through. So how can I get into homes and network with investors? By starting a cleaning business!

By cleaning homes, we are constantly meeting homeowners, decision makers, investors etc. We learn what it takes to upkeep a property’s value and safety.

 

 

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Both of my parents worked in housekeeping. They worked very hard for very little money. I wanted to start a business in the same field they worked in to show we can have ownership rather than just being employees.

Now, we make in a couple hours what my parents would make in a week.

My parents taught me to work hard, day and night, 7 days a week. This is how we provide for our family.

I blend their work ethic with my entrepreneurial spirit to create a work-life balance and family legacy.

Every Saturday (Sábado in Spanish), my mom and grandma would wake me up at 7am to clean the house. It was our duty to clean the home together as a team. Once done, we could enjoy the rest of our weekend. I would HATE being woken up so early! Like, for what?! I was 8 years old and had already fulfilled my duties of going to school. I had to clean the house, too!?

But now as a grown-up, I appreciate the tradition instilled in me. Saturdays were filled with sun and good music while we cleaned. Now, we bring that same refreshing energy to our client’s homes.

 

 

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’ve only been in AZ on-and-off for a year. But what stands out to me is nature all around you. Papago and Encanto Park are a great place to clear your mind.

Food wise: El Gordo Mexican Grill on Cactus and 67th has a great “Mar y Tierra” burrito. Angry Crab Shack has a bomb shrimp po’ boy. Yogi’s Grill has a yummy Arizona Bowl. Bosa has great smoothies and pastries 😍

Scottsdale Fashion Square is always a vibe! I haven’t had the chance to visit Sedona yet, but I hope to visit soon!
