In regards to podcasting, i’ve taken some big risks. There have been times where I wasn’t sure if i should reach out to a potential guest, or if i would get a response back. It’s easy to get caught up in your own mind wondering if a person of influence would want to be a guest. But, you’ll never know unless you go for it. My personal belief is that risk is present in everything we do and anywhere we are, even in the simplest things. Looking at it that way helps me to put it into perspective as a smaller thing to be mitigated and dealt with rather than this huge, overwhelming fear that stops me in my tracks. I also trust myself and my resourcefulness and know that there isn’t much I can’t get through. If I don’t know how to do it then I likely know someone who does or I can find the information out or learn what needs to be done so when I look at anything I use that as a barometer to whether or not the risk is worth the reward. What I have learned through trial and error is the value of incremental progress as a key to success. I have found that lasting growth and meaningful achievements are built one step at a time. When I first set out to reach my dreams, I thought that producing something wonderful would open the door to instant gratification and success.
