There are so many factors that can play a role in determining our results, performance and ultimately our success, but some factors matter more than others. We asked folks what they felt was the most important factor driving their success.

Chanda Jones | Lifestyle & Fashion Blogger

The most important factors behind my success is being humble, and my drive and tenacity. I truly believe there’s no obstacle I (or anyone else for that matter) can’t overcome. If you’re willing to do the hard work, you can achieve anything! I’m always in a state of learning new things, and sharing what I learn with others! I think it can be very fun and exciting in the initial phases of deciding to venture out and start something of your very own, but once you get in the thick of it understanding that there are times where nothing is going right and you truly want to give up. Deciding to keep learning and pushing forward is what makes you successful. Read more>>

Hailee Marie | Tattoo Artist

Personally, the ability to make sure my clients feel safe and comfortable while getting tattooed by me and that they are all getting a unique custom tattoo are the biggest contributors to my success as an artist. As long as I can make sure my clients are both getting a quality tattoo and a positive experience when they come to see me I get new clients just from word of mouth and from my tattoos being out in the world for people to see. Katie Benford | Manifestation & Success Coach

The single most important factor behind my success & all success, in my opinion, is your mindset. You can have all of the strategies, tools, etc, but if you don’t hold the belief that you can be successful, there is a slim chance you will achieve it. And there is an even slimmer chance that you will achieve and sustain success! This is because whatever is going on in our subconscious mind is what will happen in our physical reality every single time. We are all mirroring our internal representation out into our physical experience. So, when you believe you cannot become successful, your mind is only capable of picking up on information that is in alignment with that belief. Our minds are so powerful and I believe it’s a huge component that many new entrepreneurs in the online space miss. If you hold the belief that successful people are evil, you could bet that you will have a hard time receiving success. In order to change your beliefs surrounding success, you must pinpoint the reasons why you believe this to be true. Sometimes it comes from our parents, sometimes it comes from the media, but wherever you picked up the belief, you have to break it down and dismantle it. Read more>>

Diana Morales | Shop Curator & Designer

The most important factor behind the success of our brand is most importantly Jesus, and second, hard work. Our brands mission is to spread the Love & Hope of Jesus Christ through fashion and current trends. Hard work, late nights and perseverance has only helped. We started while working a full time job and have been able to shift into full time because of the late nights and sacrifices. We always think of those who say how successful they were able to become because of sleepless nights and having to sacrifice ‘having fun’ for a while to make their brand successful. That is exactly our story as well. Immense prayer and TONS of hard work has gotten us here today. Read more>>

Grant Ferguson | Independent Recording Artist

I remember hearing time and again successful entrepreneurs or Hollywood celebrities when accepting a Golden Globe or Academy Award say things like: “don’t ever give up.” As cliche as this sounds, it has proven to be a critical component of what success I’ve achieved, both as a musical artist and entrepreneur. The whole “20 year overnight success” thing is absolutely real. The way media venerates business and artistic personas does us all a disservice by focusing only on the obvious and laudable end results and not enough on the failures, pain, blood, sweat and tears it takes to get there. Jeanine Marie Austin Stotts | Psychotherapist, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy Teacher

The fact that I am a voracious learner and very passionate about helping others utilizing creative and evidence based strategies is the reason I think my brand has been successful. I’ve been in the field about 33 years if you can believe that! I have never stopped exploring techniques, strategies and tools. For example, just in the last 5 years I have attended summer school at Oxford University, completed Julie Montagu’s Yoga Teacher Training and attended trainings on Self Compassion, Social Thinking, personality disorders and wellness strategies. I also work full time at a hospital in behavioral health as a therapist and trainer. Working for a hospital is a wonderful ways to keep one’s skills sharp. I also work full-time for myself. If you love what you do, you never really work a day in your life. Read more>>
