Where are you from and how has it impacted you?

Even if you are from the same neighborhood as someone else, you might still be coming from different places. Where you are from is a complicated question and it elicits complicated, but interesting and thought-provoking responses. We’ve shared some of those responses below.

Where am I from? If you would have asked me that question when I was 10, I wouldn’t know how to answer that question… My dad was in the service so we moved a lot. By the looks of it, through pictures, I spent most of my early childhood in Europe then moved to the states where we’ve stayed ever since. But back to the question. I am from Palatine, Illinois. It is a small town outside of Chicago. My mother, her mother, and her father are / were all very talented artists. My father and his father were in the building construction industry. Luckily, I inherited the artistic talent and a love for building from my family. Growing up I was always sketching and building Lego creations, those were my absolute favorite things to do as a child. My parents always encouraged me to create art. Read more>>
Hi! I am Missy Feldman, originally from New Jersey and moved to Arizona in 2017. Growing up, both my parents were very organized and one might say they were a bit OCD. Our house was immaculate; 24/7. Our shoes came off the minute we set foot in the door and were placed on the shoe rack, clothes had to be immediately folded when the buzzer went off on the dryer, toys/books put back in their place the moment we stopped playing with them, and the list goes on and on.
