Meet Annette Campbell | Artist & art teacher that create art to inspire

We had the good fortune of connecting with Annette Campbell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Annette, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
The joy it brings me and others, creating art pieces that can impact others and inspire them.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Everything takes time and hard work. And it’s never too late to pursue the career that you love.
There is no success without trying! If we fall get up and try again keep going, keep believing. We have to also remember that we need each other to succeed in life.
I also try to be grateful, prayerful, humble and always setting goals 🙂

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
ITALY!! I would choose Italy. Even though I live in the US. The people are fun lay back, relax and creative!!
We would go to Rome, to one of the coolest temple and visitor center that I had the opportunity to show my artwork.
Then visit another famous street in Rome, Italy that has many unique art galleries. Some of my artwork is currently on display their.
Then Florence such a cool city! The best restaurants.. The Duomo is mind blowing not talking about Thanks in Japanese:) but the
Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. This such Bella church to. see very whimsical indeed. And do many famous museums to visit Uffizi., Accademia Gallery etc..
Venice would be a city to end with after visiting Rome for few days the Florence and last but not least Venice. It’s such a peaceful place. After visiting thereI felt a sense of reverence which is hard to explain. One if to experience it for themselves.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
So many people… okay first my sister who is also a artist and teacher. Then my Italian friends Valentina & Peter, who help me Artistically, and chose me to illustrate their book for them. Which was a great experience to bring their story to life with my artwork.
Then the non-profit organization that I am apart of NgomaY’Africa. Teaching kids art to dancing and directing their African fashion show.
I have also shoutout to my two favorite artists. Leonardo di Vinci and Michelangelo, even though they lived many many years before me their work and stories inspires me everyday. It was a honor to go to Italy and see the “David” by Michelangelo and to visit the child hood home of Vinci .
But most of all I give all the praise and honor to God who gave me this talent and helps me to improve each day.
“God sells us all things at the price of labor.”
— Leonardo da Vinci
The true work of art is but a shadow of the divine perfection.
