We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Foster and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am originally from New Jersey. I was brought up in a very tight knit community. I was enrolled in Catholic School all the way through High School. This had a very profound effect on me. We had a very advanced and strict curriculum. This instilled discipline in me from a very young age. I was always very determined and a very hard worker and these attributes helped me build the foundation of owning my own business and pushing Stylish Events by Lisa to grow.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We love that we are just a little bit different. We love being creative and challenging ourselves. That is why our events are so versatile, we dont just focus on one type of event. We want to do it all and create new memories for our clients. Have a crazy idea, send it our way! Having such a unique array of clients helps us to stay on our toes but also pushes us to new limits and we are grateful for this. We love being creative and helping people with their life’s special moments.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We are so proud to be a part of the Downtown Phoenix community and we have been for years. With that being said there are so many favorites to choose from. We highly recommend Kaizen for some amazing sushi, and then barhopping for drinks after. Valley Bar, Gracie’s Tax Bar, Hanny’s, Cornish Pasty, and Melinda’s Alley are some of our favorites. Phoenix Art Museum is must for art enthusiasts , and hiking at Piestewa Peak is great for getting outdoors and getting some Vitamin D! On a nicer note, brunch at the elegant Wrigley Mansion is definitely worth it for the views as well as a historic tour of the beautiful mansion. Also making sure to stop by some of the DTPHX local boutiques and shops, we love supporting local!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I could not have grown Stylish Events by Lisa without the help of many others. Many colleagues in the event industry have taught me so many things over the years. Also by building trusting, working relationships with them, they have helped us launch our success. These relationships are some of the most important aspects of Stylish Events. Without our friends and vendors we would not be where we are today.
