We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Higgins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jason, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
As a parent, one of the most important things I have done is show my children what hard work, resilience, and determination look like in real life. I created my own brand, started a Buffalo sauce company, and eventually became a restaurant owner. Building these businesses was not easy. I faced many setbacks and unexpected curveballs along the way, but I refused to give up.

My children have watched me continue working toward my goals even when things became difficult. I want them to understand that success does not always happen overnight and that challenges do not mean you should stop trying. Through my actions, I have taught them to believe in themselves, work hard, and remain committed to their dreams.

The greatest impact I hope to have on my children is showing them that their circumstances do not determine their future. They can create opportunities for themselves, overcome adversity, and accomplish meaningful goals through faith, perseverance, and dedication. Owning my business is something I am proud of, but inspiring my children to become strong and resilient is my greatest accomplishment.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the owner of Jupiter Rings, a family-owned Buffalo sauce brand that has grown from a personal vision into a business with products sold in various stores and countries around the world. In 2019, I created and branded the world’s first vegan Buffalo sauce. I am also the owner of Fusion of Buckeye by Jupiter Rings, a restaurant located in Buckeye, Arizona.

What sets Jupiter Rings apart is our commitment to creating bold, flavorful products while remaining innovative and providing options for people with different dietary lifestyles. Our brand is about more than just Buffalo sauce and food. It represents family, resilience, creativity, and having the courage to build something from the ground up.

Getting to where I am today was not easy. I have experienced setbacks, disappointments, financial challenges, and moments when giving up may have seemed like the easier choice. However, I continued moving forward because I believed in my vision and what Jupiter Rings could become. Through every obstacle, I learned how to adapt, rebuild, and remain focused on my goals.

One of the most important lessons I have learned is that nobody will care about your business more than you do. As a business owner, you must be willing to work hard, stay involved, protect your vision, and keep pushing even when other people do not fully understand what you are trying to accomplish. I have also learned that setbacks are not always failures. Sometimes they are lessons that prepare you for your next opportunity.

What I am most proud of is that, despite all the pitfalls and challenges, my family and I have survived and continued to grow. We are still here, still building, and still introducing people to the Jupiter Rings brand. I am excited about continuing to expand our products, grow our restaurant, and create something that my children and family can be proud of.

I want the world to know that Jupiter Rings is a brand built through perseverance, faith, hard work, innovation, and family. My story is proof that you can experience difficult circumstances, learn from your mistakes, rebuild after setbacks, and continue creating something meaningful without giving up.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit for a week, the first place I would take them would definitely be my restaurant, Fusion of Buckeye by Jupiter Rings. I would want them to experience the business that my family and I have worked so hard to build. We would enjoy our Buffalo wings, seafood, side dishes, and, of course, the Jupiter Rings Buffalo sauce that started it all.

On the second day, we would start the morning at Skyline Regional Park to enjoy the desert views and get some fresh air. Afterward, we would walk around Verrado’s Main Street, visit some of the local businesses, grab something to drink, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.

For the third day, I would take them into Phoenix to explore downtown and Roosevelt Row. We would look at the murals, visit local shops, enjoy some good food, and experience the energy of the city. I enjoy supporting entrepreneurs and locally owned businesses because I understand the hard work it takes to build something of your own.

The fourth day would include the Desert Botanical Garden and Papago Park. Arizona’s desert landscape is one of the things that makes this area special, so I would want my friend to see the mountains, cactus plants, and beautiful scenery.

On the fifth day, we would visit the Heard Museum to learn more about Indigenous art, history, and culture. Afterward, we would have dinner somewhere in Phoenix and find a nice place to relax, listen to music, and enjoy a drink.

The sixth day would be more laid-back. We might visit another West Valley attraction, do some shopping, or attend a local community event. I would also introduce my friend to some of the hardworking business owners and community members I have met during my journey.

On the final day, we would return to Fusion of Buckeye by Jupiter Rings for one more meal. I would want the trip to end where it began—with family, great food, good music, and meaningful conversation. The most important part would not only be showing my friend the popular attractions but also introducing them to the people, businesses, and community that make Buckeye and the Phoenix area feel like home.

I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my mother, Debra Higgins. She has always been one of the biggest supporters in my life and has believed in me even during times when I struggled to believe in myself. She has consistently encouraged me, offered guidance, provided assistance, and reminded me not to give up.

What I appreciate most is that her love and support have never depended on whether I was right or wrong. She has always stood by me while still giving me honest advice and helping me learn from my mistakes. Through every challenge, setback, and new business venture, she has continued to motivate me and remind me of my strength.

A large part of the person, father, and business owner I am today is because of her encouragement and example. She deserves recognition because her unconditional love, wisdom, and support have played an important role in my journey.
