Meet Corey And Brittanie Klucker | Owners, Luciferous Wax Works LLC.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Corey And Brittanie Klucker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Corey and Brittanie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We’ve both always had an industrious mindset, as well as the fact that we’ve both been on the creative side our entire lives. We’ve both felt that we’ve been destined for something bigger than ourselves for quite awhile now. We really wanted to have an opportunity to work together as a couple and have something that was ours to be proud of, so it just kind of made sense.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We’re a candle company, we make hand-poured small batch candles and wax melts. What sets us apart from others is the theme of our brand. We have a very distinctive identity within our branding that has drawn a lot of recognition from like-minded people within the communities we are a part of. We have a playful, seductive theme, that most “vanilla” folk would consider “spicy”. Our unscented candles leave nothing to the imagination, and our scent blends evoke feelings of passion and desire (they’re great for “setting the mood”). We’re the type of people who believe in ourselves, and more importantly, we believe in each other. We jumped in head-first when it came to starting this brand, and while we’ve spent many sleepless nights testing formulas, preparing for events, and fulfilling bulk orders on top of working full-time jobs, we know that this is just the beginning and we’re ready for what the future holds as this business grows. Like many business owners, we’ve experienced many growing pains from the very beginning, from scaling faster than we expected to, acquiring materials in a pinch, and sourcing quality suppliers. At the end of the day, the biggest lesson we’ve learned is to stay consistent, continue finding new and inventive ways to create and display our products, and simply just to show up. Getting our name and product out there is one of our primary goals. We can’t grow if we aren’t seen!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Easy. We’d definitely grab a coffee to start our day, head to some of our favorite stores like Vinyl Command and Horror Monger Collectibles in Mesa, or Spooky Shops in Phoenix (you can get our candles in-store there, by the way). We’d stop for a vegan meal at Uniq Burger, thrifting at various shops throughout the valley, and of course swing by Spooky’s Swirls for dessert. We’d round off our day by catching a metal show at The Nile, or hit up a goth night at Jarrod’s in Mesa or Gracie’s in Phoenix. There’s always something to do in the valley, and we always inevitably run into someone we know, which is a bonus!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We really have to thank the communities that we’re a part of in the Valley, if we’re being completely honest. We’ve made so many friends and acquaintances throughout the local goth, metal, and kink scenes. Everyone we’ve come to know has been nothing short of supportive and encouraging when it’s come to this business. In fact, we wouldn’t be doing this interview right now if it weren’t for Jennifer Dominguez, who runs Rock ‘N’ Roll AZ on Instagram sending you our way!
