We had the good fortune of connecting with Connor “3C” Carlson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Connor “3C”, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I truly believe the most important factor behind my success is to always differentiate myself from others and to make sure I always stand out for who I am and what I do. I often try to put myself in new environments and situations to continue to learn and grow into being a better me everyday. Being inspired comes from what you see, hear, and feel. The inspiration will play out in your work someway shape or form the more you listen to it. Creativity is a huge factor in success. Why try to do the minimum amount of work? Why make it just good enough? Success comes from putting your 110 percent into everything. The people you surround yourself with, the environment you live in, and your everyday energy will all contribute into your success. The success of a brand depends on how consistent and hardworking you are. I have also learned that its better to always talk to people. The more you network yourself and spread the name and vision of your brand, people will follow and naturally be attracted to it. Overall, success comes from my passion and love for what I do. I wake up everyday with a mission and a goal, and to keep pushing and grinding to achieve success.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My name is Connor Carlson, also known as 3C. I am a Videographer, Photographer, Audio Engineer, and a Graphic Designer. I run my own business called 33Visuals. I also run my own outdoor channel called “Carlson Outdoors.” There has been so many influences that all built up into who I am today. I also run a group of artist and creatives called “The Creative Junkies.” A team with many people who may have felt like the underdog and have felt un noticed. My goal is to get all us underdogs to the very top. My business offers all forms of Media Work. from Music Videos, to Promo Videos, to Weddings… you name it. I offer song covers and album covers and photoshoots, and mix music as well. I also offer green screen work as well and I truly attempt to use my creative mindset in any creative project I’m working on. I want people to see my brand as something amazing and different. To also see that we are about keeping the good energy day to day. My story has been long and difficult but I am finally at a point where I can feel comfortable. That feeling that I can continue to use my creative mind as an outlet is one of the best. I am able to create so many connections and opportunities for people to come together and have a good time and create amazing things at the end of the day .
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If there was a place I wanted to go to have the best time ever then I would go back to California. Nothing matches the feeling of being in Cali. We would do it all, from going out and having fun, to shooting some awesome videos and pictures out there, to record to music all night. We actually already took a trip there earlier this year and it as a great success. It could also be as simple as a week in my hometown with some simple studio sessions and some fun nights at the Bar. I have noticed that no matter where I’m at , we seem to make every situation fun. It is always good to just live in the moment and be happy with what’s right in front of you.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are many people that have been apart of this long journey I have been on. The Journey still has barely started but has gotten me so far and helped me meet some pretty amazing people. From day 1 a big influence was my parents and their endless support. Growing up is the time where you learn from everything. The mistakes you make teach you how to move through life in a smooth, happy way. If I didn’t have the support from my parents and family then I would not be anywhere near where I am now. Having a solid friend group growing up taught me how to be apart of a team. Teamwork and being a leader goes a long way and playing Baseball in high school with some of my best friends really taught me those traits as well. All the Artist I have worked with throughout the years have taught me how to really be able to work with so many different types of people and to be prepared for any situation. Today I still have so many people that inspire me day by day to be the best I can be. I would like to give a shoutout to my team, “The Creative Junkies” for seeing the vision I see and the potential they have to continue to be amazing. I want to shoutout all the people that gave me opportunities on connections that I may not have gotten without them. Everyone that has been apart of my journey on the way, all know who they are and are aware how thankful and appreciative I am to have their full support. At the end of the day its truly the ones I love that I do this for. Being able to be in the position to help everybody with my skillsets has opened up a huge horizon of visions and dreams for myself. I am fully committed to sticking to the vision and goals of not only elevating myself to the very top but to bring everyone with me. I know I have the tools, the support, the team, and the skills to be one of the greatest to do what I do as a Media Specialist and Recording Artist. 33Visuals is the name of my business. I chose the numbers 33 from the Angel numbers “333” to represent growth. I feel that there’s always room to grow in anything you do. Its ok to be comfortable but its also great to keep chasing that growth. The Journey really started when we threw our first concert in 2017, called ” A Goofy Night.” It was my senior year of high school. It was a great turnout and it felt good to know people were listening to the music we put hard work into. After this point on I wanted to make my media side and my artist side as a real profession. The first out of town trip we took was with my first music group called “TR33LIF3.”We took a trip to Texas and I was able to shoot a music video for BFB Da Pacman. It showed me how close we really were to the industry and I cherished that trip. Throughout this time I was shooting many videos in Flint Michigan and really getting better with my craft. Fast forwarding to this year where I was booked to go shoot two shows for the upcoming popstar Brooklyn Queen. I wanted to make this trip very meaningful so my team, The Creative Junkies” and I booked an AirBnB for the following week after I shot these videos. The Video shoots went great and we then had an amazing week. We were able to use it as a work trip and a team bonding trip as well. Fast forwarding three months later, My good friend DVBZ invited me out to Arizona to come shoot a music video for Him and YN Jay. We ended up following through with the trip and it was a true memory that I can never forget. At the end of the day its never about the clout or the fame, its about being put in those situations to make amazing memories. The list goes on and on of things I would like to talk about, but the most important thing is that not only I have watched others grow, but I have watched myself grow. I’m thankful and blessed for every second of all of it and cannot wait to see where it all takes me. There are so many big projects on the way and I cannot wait to share them with everybody.
