We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Heywood and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberly, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have been running the business and marketing side of my own businesses for years. Lots of people love my unique style and have asked me for tips and tricks and even asked me to do their marketing in the past. I finally decided I should start my own marketing company so that I can help others and utilize my unique skillset to grow local small businesses!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My journey starts in the classroom. I use to be a high school English teacher and I then earned my Master’s degree in rhetoric, writing, and digital media studies. Throughout that career I move through a lot of different facets of education and actually learned a lot about business and appealing to others. I later started my own medical practice with a business partner and my role was everything related to business and marketing. I was able to use my skills in rhetoric to market our small business in a way that people had never seen before. I do not follow a traditional marketing routine, my style of marketing is very unique and it works! Over time people started asking me for advice and people started recognizing my marketing style. Lot of people encouraged me to start my own marketing company. I am very passionate about helping small business owners since that is where I started.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love all of Queen Creek! You can’t wrong with the restaurants and shops in the downtown area. Shnepf Farms is a classic stop and the San Tan Mountains are beautiful.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am thankful for the business that I’ve owned in the past that have allowed me to experiment and have opportunities for trial and error. Those experiences helped get me to where I am at today.
