Meet Alexander Ortiz | Digital Multimedia Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexander Ortiz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexander, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Ever since I was a child I was the creative type. I used to draw and sketch comic characters and have my imagination run wild with all these stories running in my head! I was the only kid that said he wanted to be a filmmaker at the age of 8! So it was a no brainer that I wanted to pursue that dream ever since! I can say at the very least I’ve achieved that dream but still pushing to be even better!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
This is a little bit of a two-fer as my business is in the creative field so it’s really hard to pinpoint which part of it to focus on, BUT I’d say its definitely more focused on the creative aspect than anything else. So we’ll go with that! I’ve been doing multimedia for over ten years, I started in high school where my main focus was filmmaking, of course, but through that endeavor I was introduced to a whole new world of graphic design, photography, motion graphics and everything in between. Those quickly and equally became a passion of mine as well as the study and perfection of them. It’s definitely not an easy road as even now it’s still a grind most of the time but each time it works and someone wants my services it gets easier and easier to do. The main lesson I’ve learned along the way is that, no two clients are alike. I see so much of these online “gurus” that promise an easy approach or a “one size fits all” to either their business or a solution to their problem and I couldn’t disagree with that method more. And it’s because I’ve dealt with some very unique clients who’s needs differ, I’ve had people ask me for music video work, while I’ve had others ask for corporate video work, and I’ve even had someone ask me to design a flier for their church event, it’s really dependent on who the client is and that’s why I established my brand to be a “one stop shop” for a fully comprehensive solution to anyones multimedia needs. And it’s fully custom.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh wow this is fun and a little difficult to think but I think I would say for sure Culinary Dropout in Tempe is a must. I’m originally from chicago so I would definitely take them to Sloan Park for a spring training game of the Cubs. The Grid in Mesa is a DEFINITE night for the group and friends time, they have karaoke and essentially all 90’s video games a millennial can ask for, the drinks aren’t that bad either. And probably a hike up south mountain will be a good relaxer to finish it off.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There’s many, many people to thank honestly, I wish I could name them all here! I would first like to shoutout a good friend and semi-business mentor Josh Miles who’s insight into business is unmatched and I wouldn’t have done anything to move my business forward if it weren’t for him. I would also like to shoutout my church family at Redemption Church Tempe(they know who they are :)) without their support and community to keep me grounded I don’t think I would’ve grown as much as I have. And of course, my parents and girlfriend who continually invest and believe in me even on the hardest of days. You guys are the real MVP
