Meet Connor Fog | Property Manager

We had the good fortune of connecting with Connor Fog and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Connor, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
When I first started working after college, my work life balance was weighed completely on the work side. Working in youth sports, there was not much down time at all. I was burned out for years. Now I have all the freedom I could want and it’s very comforting. Sure last minute inconveniences come up, but they are infrequent and manageable.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been managing properties full time for only a few months but it has given me a lot more freedom as a person and a new way to enjoy work again. I like working on projects, fixing things, building things, and managing properties gives me plenty of opportunities for all of that. I would say my ability to work well with others, having that small business personal touch and my willingness to do any task, no matter how small, separates me from the large, corporate type property managers. With new careers come new challenges and I’ve been able to thrive under these challenges.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Arizona is seriously underrated in the types of food, scenic places, and things to do. Renting a boat on Lake Pleasant is always a good idea. My favorite places for lunch or dinner would be La Santisima (the best tacos you’ll ever get), Haus Murphy (German), and, of course, Dutch Bros for coffee and pastries. Top Golf, a Cardinals game, and getting drinks in Old Town are some great ways to entertain friends visiting the area.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have my family to thank for getting me started. My dad bought a small house near Grand Canyon University a few years ago and I have been running it ever since. He, my mom, brother, and sister in law started buying rental properties and trusted me with managing them. Managing those houses gave me the ability to leave my previous job and start my own company.
