We had the good fortune of connecting with Fanchon Stylezz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fanchon, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
As a parent I feel the most important thing I’ve done to have an impact on my children’s lives is showing them what real strength is. If you get knocked down, it’s okay just make sure you get back up. I have had multiple health conditions and so far I have pushed through every one of them. Even at times when doctors told my family that I would only live for a few days, I managed to beat those odds.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The thing that I would have to most be proud about is my strength that I keep finding to wake up everyday. I look forward to setting new goals and accomplishing them. I would have to say my dreams are what is keeping me alive. I know it sounds a little crazy but this is what I love and have a passion for. The road to my success wasn’t easy and it’s still a little rough. After having three heart attacks a stroke, a seizure and cancer, I refuse to let these things stop me. After meeting my long time friend and mentor Damon Diddit with every new sickness he pushed me to take action and start fulfilling my dreams. Growing up I always had a passion for movies and wanted to make one when I got older. In High School I wrote a short story and over the years I just kept rewriting it. Flash forward to after having my first heart attack a friend asked me to help out with a project that he was apart of. I agreed and to my surprise I was helping with the film “Bullets Over Brownsville” which was Damon’s film. A few months later Damon asked me to help out with a few more projects that he was doing. I gladly accepted and over time he encouraged me to take my short story that I wrote back in High School and turn it into a book. Which I did and things took off for me from there. After Self publishing my first novel “Heart Of Kings”, Mr. Diddit did the unthinkable. He took me on my first cross country book tour putting my novel in stores.

Times passes and we continue to help each other with projects and every time my health with decline he found a way to get my mind busy. After have a stroke, a seizure and two more heart attacks, I was encouraged to write a second novel. “Brave Heartz Taliyah’s Bittersweet Revenge”, the sequel to “Heart Of Kings”. The Challenge I faced behind writing for the second time was I lost my vision in one eye, my speech and my ability to walk. I found myself giving up but my family and friends kept pushing me. At one point I stopped writing because my doctor informed me that I needed a heart transplant. I really didn’t know what to do at that point. My kids needed me and I didn’t want to let my family and friends down so I decided to lock myself in my house for a week and finished writing my novel. Another self published book made me happy and with therapy I was able to walk, talk and my vision came back. While waiting to hear if my doctor would approve me for a new heart, Damon and I hit the road again. Sharing my story with any one and everyone who would listen. Driving from British Colombia to California I had a lot to think about and the time to do it. Once we returned back home to New York I was sadden to hear that I wasn’t getting the transplant. Once again Damon stepped in and told me to find something that would make me happy.

Taking his advice this time I decided to do something with my kids. We purchased and heat press machine and started making shirts just for fun. Over time family and friends started asking for shirts. I found this as a way to bond with my kids and they found it as a way to make money. My children and I decided to pack our things and leave New York. Upon arriving in Arizona I saw a doctor who diagnosed me with stomach cancer. Once Damon heard the news he flew out and we hit the road to clear my mind. On this trip in Death Valley California I received so many compliments on my shirts. At this point it was a no brainier. Once I returned home I ran the idea of going global to my kids and they agreed.

I would have to say the lesson that I’ve learned from all of this is pray, take care of your health and love the ones close to you. Our company name is “Lady Brave Heartz”. We are a fast growing brand that encourages women no matter what you are going through you are beautiful, strong and loved.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Arizona is a beautiful state and wonderful weather that’s pretty much all year round. I love when my family and friends come to visit. One of my favorite places to take them is Tempe Town Lake. We have an awesome time doing the paddle boats. Our favorite place to eat is Hot N Juicy Crawfish which is just a few blocks away. I am an outdoors person so some of the other place we enjoy are the Horseshoe Bend, The Wave, Grand Falls, Phoenix Zoo, the Odysea Aquarium and going up South Mountain to watch the sun set.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
