We had the good fortune of connecting with Giulia Meta and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Giulia, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Working as a travel content creator is something that people really can’t understand especially in Italy. They use to ask me how is that possible that I gain money out of that, they ask me how can I be paid “only to share some videos and pictures”.
They have no idea about the hours and hours of work behind this job, behind my content, my projects and so on.

They can’t understand the multiple aspects related to this activity and the fact that having a big community means being able to deliver easly product and services. They think I get payed from instagram thanks to the number of visualizations I have! But it doesn’t work like this!

I get payed from brands I collaborate with, from products and services I created on myown and that are interesting for my public and so on.

People can’t understand how is it possible that a young woman graduated in engineering prefers to be indipendent and take a lot of risks instead of being involved in a company that is safer and well payed.

What should our readers know about your business?
It has not been easy to arrive here. Social media platform nowadays are difficult to scale. But with passion and dedication I have been able to reach a high content level and create my own supporting community. The biggest satisfaction I had was selling my guide about the Cammino de Santiago and being able to deliver more than 100 copies in less than 4 days.
The big challenge I have to face everyday is that I always need to create new valuable content, keep my profiles updated, communicate with my public, define new projects and so on..

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I can’t really say. I have been traveling in the last 2 years so I don’t even know where I could be if my best friend would come to see me

My parents and my best friend, who always supported my crazy plans
