We had the good fortune of connecting with Malcolm Amato and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Malcolm, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
It was 2 things simultaneously. 1) Deciding to impress God instead of impressing people.

2) Deciding to love long term success instead of short term vices.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I got where I am today by embracing doing 10 jobs at a time by myself. No, it’s not ideal nor recommended, but sometimes you’re all you have. Most of the people around me didn’t have the vision or the belief in themselves that I have in myself. I know I can depend on me to do 10 jobs correctly because I’m 100% invested in my success. It takes longer, but it’s much easier on my psyche than trying to delegate it to 10 people who are only halfway invested in themselves, and even less invested in my success. I’m a firm believer that people who believe in themselves will invest in themselves. Otherwise I’ll think their just a barker with no bite. I believe if you don’t back your confidence in yourself up with money, then it’s fake confidence, and I find fake confidence to be a major red flag.

My brand is about consistency and dependability. An inconsistent person is an untrustworthy person. Inconsistent habits lead to inconsistent actions. I believe in being consistent on the job and off the job, and it has reflected in my ratings and my results. Everyday I have to establish my credibility and dependability. You’re only as good as you are today. I will continue to treat every job as if my reputation depends on it, because it does.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I can’t think of anyone who doesn’t deserve credit. Everyone impacts me. Everyone I have an interaction with, whether good or bad helps me. I wouldn’t be doing this interview if the people of Phoenix didn’t trust me as much as they do. Shoutout to Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Goodyear, Avondale, Tempe, Queen Creek, Casa Grande, San Tan Valley etc
