We had the good fortune of connecting with Lucy Adair and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lucy, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My business helps the community by holding a safe and positive environment for people to come and be themselves. The Wicked Taco is also involved with multiple non profit organizations around the city to help people with mental health and other struggles.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Wicked Taco was opened 2 months before the Covid outbreak in 2020 which was not the best time to start a business. I am extremely proud of the immense amount of support we received from the community. It was a lot of hard work which required patience and it was not easy. The unique part about my business is that it is a women owned and operated business, so any woman that has come through my door looking for an opportunity, I make sure they get that opportunity and I help them get the resources that they need to better themselves and their future. About 3 times a year we also hold group spiritual healing retreats in the shop in order for people to overcome their fears and let go of past traumas. The lessons I have learned is that I have to wake up early and go to bed late. I want the world to know that I try to lead by example to inspire others to never give up.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friends were visiting the area, I would first take them to the coffee shop next door to my shop, “Nichim Cafe & Boutique” because they have the best organic coffee in Yuma. I would also take them to Main St. downtown Yuma because they have many amazing places for fun night life activities. The Colorado River is another great location for site seeing, especially the “Ocean to Ocean Bridge”. One of my favorites places to visit are the local farmers market events where many local artists bring their unique creations. If my friends are also interested in having a relaxing time I would recommend “Raphaels Angels Massage” by Andrea Montoya.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a shoutout to the Healing Journey, which is a non profit organization for women & children who have been through trauma due to abuse. Especially a shoutout to Estrella Fitch for the love and support she provided for me and my family in my earlier struggles as a single mother through my own personal trauma.
