Meet Acacia Rayford | Small Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Acacia Rayford and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Acacia, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I came up with the idea for my business after my husband gifted me a Cricut die cutting machine and fell in love with creating with it. and realized it would open up a world of possibilities for me. I have always had a huge love for crafting, art, and creating things with my own hands. I have also always wanted my own business as something to express that creativity through and after really sitting down and realizing that I love stickers, stationery, and home decor Hey Rosie was created.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
With Hey Rosie Creations I aim to create handmade stickers, stationery, accessories, and home decor all using my own original designs. Each of my designs is related to
something that means a lot to me such as mental health, nature, motherhood, self-care, and more. I am most proud of how far I have come in this process. I never expected my business to grow as much as it has over the last year and a half but I am so thankful and blessed. This started as a way for me to find something that made me happy and to make some extra money and has turned into what I look forward to doing every single day. It has taken a lot of hard work and overcoming what it means to run a business but I truly love the process.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love going into downtown Phoenix. There is always so much to see and do. Exploring all of the amazing art at the Phoenix Art Museum. Getting a bit to eat at the Welcome Diner and then enjoying a drink at the Lost Leaf where there is usually live music or a show happening.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
None of this would be as possible as it has been without 2 extremely important people in my life. The first one is my mom. My love for crafting came purely from her. When we were kids she created some of the cakes, decorations, gifts, and clothes all from her creative mind and through hard work. Growing up and seeing all of that has always made me want to do the same. She has also always been my loudest cheerleader.
My husband is my 2nd shoutout. He has been willing to lend a helping hand since the very beginning. Whether that’s helping me at events, helping find materials, or just allowing me to bounce ideas off of him. His support means the world to me and knowing that he has my back is what makes navigating this whole thing a lot easier.=
